We are currently looking for a workaway in Scotland for June and July 2026

Beschreibung

We are a friendly, positive and motivated couple who are not afraid of hard work no matter the conditions. We enjoy being part of a happy and healthy enviroment and try and bring that energy wherever we go. We travel around in our self converted campervan and sometimes backpacking too. We love new expirences and trying things outside our normal comfort zone.

Before we started our adventure, Jack (29) worked as a mechanic for 12 years aswell as running a handyman business on the side. Nicole (27) had been working in retail for 6 years aswell as doing solo travel and had worked in a hostel and hotel.

Our favouite things are being outdoors, hiking, paddleboarding and exploring new places and cultures. Nicole also loves being artistic and creative and can often be found drawing on her tablet or painting. Jack enjoys learning about local ecosystems and the wildlife that call it home.

As a couple we have a passion for caring for animals and learning about ecosystem and livestock management and its importance for our future. We have both started to learn foraging and to identify plant life. Nicole is learning about holistic medicine and nutrition.

We work well together as a team but can also work independently to achieve any tasks given. We love learning new skills and helping bring new ideas to projects. We have no issue working outside no matter the weather.

Jack-
Im a fully qualified diesel mechanic with 12 years expirence working on buses, boats, cars, plant and agriculture machinery. I'm a competent welder and can do basic fabrication and metal work. I have experience in property maintenance completing jobs from fitting doors and windows, flooring, fencing and other carpentry work, painting and decorating, basic plumbing and drainage, landscaping and general maintenance. I can complete tasks operating a range of machinery like hand and ride on mowers, forklifts, excavators, dumpers, tractor work and power tools. I have tractor and trailer and towing expirence. I have worked on a organic farm helping with feeding, bedding and hearding cattle and sheep aswell as tree planting. I've also worked in hospitality at a hotel checking guests in and out, taking payments and bookings, waiting tables, bar work, general and grounds work, cleaning and preparing rooms. I'm confident in caring for, administering medication and washing a range of domestic animals.

Nicole -
I have worked in a hotel and hostel cleaning and preparing rooms, checking in and checking out guests and waiting tables. I worked retail for 6 years so I am comfortable helping customers and being approached. I have 10 years experience caring for cats and can administer medication. I have experience caring for dogs also. I can cook and bake. I can garden and I have knowledge of growing fruits and vegetables. I can do basic painting jobs. I can create digital and physical illustrations.

Was noch ...

Our long term goal is to get our own smallholding where we can host workawayers and help the community. Nicole is also interested in learning more about holistic medicine and yoga.
