Hi!

We are Sebastian and Isa and we are currently looking for workwaway opportunities in Spain and/or Portugal in the summer of 2025..

We are a couple from Sweden (Isa) and Argentina (Sebastian) respectively, currently residing in Sweden. We met travelling and have both worked in various hostels around the world, including Canada, Thailand, Australia, Macedonia, Hungary, Albania and Montenegro. We enjoy building and maintenance and love to work together on finishing a project. Back in Sweden we mainly work with urban planning and graphic design.

vom Host für Workawayer ()

*****SUPERSTARS***** Where do I begin??? Isa & Seba are NOT typical workawayers….they are both highly skilled and methodical craftspeople who are using the WorkAway platform for their extensive travels. I was so INCREDIBLY fortunate to have them stay with me for 2½ months. It was the longest time I had people stay and I would have kept them here… read more forever if I could have :-)

Seba is truly a Master Architect Builder. I found it fascinating to watch him think through how to complete a project and he has an incredible amount of practical knowledge and experience that his brain is continually drawing from. In spite of that, this is a very old property in Greece and when we begin any project we will often come across obstacles with the existing structure that doesn’t allow us to do things in a conventional way. Seba will ALWAYS find a way to do the work to the highest standard and make things both functional and beautiful. He was working and re-working things out continually to get the desired result and I have never met anyone with a brain like him. If you can come up with an idea then he will find a way to make it happen. He would be every Interior Designer’s dream to work with :-)

Isa is the methodical and highly organised Project Manager that provides the structure for all projects. She is extremely knowledgeable about materials, hardware etc… and we would shop together for all the things that were needed. She is also a meticulous worker who will put herself to work on any project necessary. The first thing they both did when they arrived was build a massive garden deck for me. They had to build the deck over existing uneven and broken stonework and extend the level over an open area and around a large tree. Seba built the most solid structure and then moved onto the next project while Isa meticulously cut and laid all the deck boards. There are many areas with solid rocks that couldn’t be moved and Isa shaped each board around the rocks so it all blends beautifully. She then sanded all the edges so it was soft for bare feet. I have had decks built in the past but this is completely outstanding and has totally changed the look of my garden. I cannot express how impressed and pleased I am with the end result.

In addition, they totally remodelled an outside bathroom and installed new plumbing, new electrics, new sanitary ware and for the first time this bathroom has hot and cold water with a comfortable shower. Outside this bathroom, on the external back wall they a built a small utility room from scratch to house a new washing machine, sink and boiler. They used a lot of salvaged materials and clad the external walls from small left-over pieces of decking and it looks fantastic.

There has been a large room in the house I have been unable to use since moving here as water kept coming into the room from outside when it rained (and it was A LOT of water!!). They resolved the issue, built a new raised floor inside the room, removed existing sliding patio doors and built-up the wall for a new much smaller set of windows. Seba also installed new electrics and it is now ready for a new kitchen to be installed.

These are JUST the main projects they completed in the time they were here. They also applied themselves to a number of small and miscellaneous annoying tasks that just never seemed to get done and each time I looked something else (that I had never had time to get to!) was rectified. I cannot speak highly enough about Isa and Seba. They are an absolutely incredible team who can turn their hands to anything and I was truly fortunate to benefit from their skill, experience and absolute commitment to doing the MOST AMAZING work while they were here. And yet, best of all was the very close bond we all built while they were here. Every single day was a pure pleasure to be in their company. We could talk about absolutely anything with open minds and hearts and they are truly beautiful people in every sense. I am soooooooooo hopefuly they will return soon as I miss them already. THANK YOU ISA & SEBA FOR EVERYTHING and I know we will be friends for life :-)

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Help us create our paradise ...)

First of all we just want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! It's been nothing short of amazing 😄 We spent two months with Maria and were so fortunate to find a workaway were we all didn't just get along but had an absolute BLAST together! Maria is a wonderful person with the biggest heart, always smiling and making sure everyone is as… read more comfortable as they can be. We felt right at home from the first moment we set foot in her beautiful house and during our stay we always had everything we needed and more!

We enjoyed every moment we spent here, sharing meals all together, long talks, a lot of laughs. Many nights were spent on the terrace, enjoying the sunset along with amazing views of the surrounding sea and mountains. This in itself is such a treat (!!) but in fact we enjoyed the company even more😄

We also had the opportunity to meet wonderful fellow workawayers Mike and Kara from New Zealand with whom we shared a few weeks together. During this time Maria's daughter Heather also visited so we had a full house and it was great. We all mixed perfectly and created really nice vibes😄

The area is so beautiful and there is a lot to explore! We spent many afternoons on the beach and have lovely meals and strolls in the centre of Kalamata. Maria really showed us all the good spots😄

As for the work, there is a variation of things that Maria is looking to start or finalize and she was very open from the start with us so that we could find the right projects together - I would say that's probably every workwayer's dream scenario. In the end, we got to work on projects that were really fun for us and also a contribution towards realizing Maria's vision for the house - a perfect win-win situation!😄 We had so much fun building, talking ideas for the house and dreaming together.

We also found that everything we needed in terms of tools and supplies was there.
In the first few weeks, Seba kept repeating: I can't believe this, every time I have an idea and look for a way to execute it, all the tools I could possibly need (and more) are just right there! We couldn't have asked for better working conditions!

We have been away for less than one week and we already miss the place so much - Maria's company and the beautiful dogs, Ocean and Sky, and the kittycats!

Once again THANK YOU FOR LETTING US BE PART OF THE BEAUTIFUL PROJECT YOU ARE BUILDING!

We definitely will be back SOON, we didn’t leave just another workaway, we left a friend, a family, a HOME!!!

we have no more than great memories to share about our stay with Inger!

Our original plan was stay for 10 days, but we ended staying for almost 2 months.

Amazing help and great couple. I really enjoyed having Isa & Seba around... be it cooking, building or sharing a beer (Argus ;)
During their stay they managed to build a small green house and a compost toilet among many other big and small projects.
