Beschreibung

Inez:
I am a curious and creative person with an eye for detail.
My friends describe me as attentive and caring. Patience and thoughtfulness are values I hold dear, both in my work and in my daily life.

In my free time, you’ll often find me at the climbing gym or at home at my workbench, creating juwelery or exploring new craft projects. I unwind by spending time with friends, curling up on the couch with a good book, or watching a nature documentary.

During summer, I like to start my day calmly, with a mindful round in my own vegetable and herb garden.

I live in the city center of Leuven, Belgium, together with my partner and a housemate. I work at the local swimming pool, both at the reception desk and as a swimming instructor.

My favorite part? Helping little ones feel at home in the water and guiding young children through their very first swimming strokes. There’s nothing better than seeing their confidence grow, one splash at a time.

Werther:
I am a calm person with an active lifestyle, who likes to learn from new experiences. I like to be around people and get to know them properly.

I work in an refugee center in Belgium as a social educator. Here I meet people from all walks of life, people from different cultures and people of all ages. I've learned to communicate with a lot of people and even more important, I've learned to listen to them. I get a lot of satisfaction out of this job. I like being able to help people, to learn them new languages or to just improve their day.

Out of my job I also lead an active life. I like to sport. Football, tennis and snooker are the sports I practice the most. Inez and I like to dance salsa and we take a class every week. I also love to read and go to the cinema. If I have the mental energy for it I like to write or be creative in many different ways. (I hope to be able to write a lot while we go on our trip.)

But most important to me are the people that I love. I like to meet my friends and family and share quality time with them. Without them life would be empty.

We are eager to learn Spanish and we would love to teach Dutch and the basics of English. I (Werther) have some experience in teaching English and Dutch to non native speakers. Every week I give a course in Dutch (1,5h) and a course in English (1,5h) to the refugees in the refugeecamp where I work.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Inez:
I'm a swimming teacher with a big heart for children. Due to my studies in psychology and education I have acquired knowledge in teaching methods and didactics. I'm communicative and can tune in to peoples needs, which helps me a lot as a receptionist at the swimming pool. I feel the most in touch with my creative side. I love doing little arts and crafts project and I am very keen to learn new techniques. Recently I have been learning how to stitch with a sewing machine and I love it!

Werther:
I have acquired a masters degree in economics. I have shifted my energy from the field of economics to humanitarian work. I am learning how to teach and listen to peoples needs. Since I graduated I've worked a few different jobs in totally different areas. I've worked as a sales assistant, financial employee, teacher and social educator. These jobs have taught me skills in communication, teaching and administrative work. Due to my work with refugees I feel comfortable to communicate in different languages and with peoples from different cultures.

In my free time I like to write and have noticed that I have some talent for it.
