Beschreibung

Hi! My name is Humberto, I'm 30 years old and I'm from Brazil. I'm traveling to Germany with a Working Holiday visa to spend a year exploring new experiences. It's a kind of sabbatical, but with the intention of trying different kinds of work, meeting new people, and learning from different ways of life.

For the past three years, I’ve been working as a data and sustainability analyst at a consultancy focused on climate change and the carbon market.

I have a degree in meteorology and a deep passion for nature — for the sky, the ocean, and everything wild and natural. In my daily life, I enjoy walking in nature, soaking up the sun, and staying active. I'm also into adventure sports, especially surfing and long hikes.

The place where I grew up is a big part of who I am. My hometown, Laguna, is a historic city on the southern coast of Brazil, known for its deserted beaches, untouched nature, and rich wildlife. It’s a very special place to me.

I have some previous experience with Workaway. In 2018, I backpacked through South America and volunteered on various projects involving permaculture, natural eco building (Geodesic Domo), harvesting, and general household tasks. One of my wildest experiences was working on a marine farm in southern Chile, taking care of huge tanks filled with exotic sea creatures.

I love pets (have one cat and take care of 3 more). My hobs include hikking, yoga, surf, meditation, long walks...

My current goals with Workaway are to connect with people, learn more about German culture and language, and share some of my own knowledge along the way.

I’d love to meet you — and if you enjoy hiking, I’m always up for a long walk!

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I work well with people and really enjoy collaborating in a team. I started working early, at the age of 14, in my uncle's restaurant, and I kept working there for several years while studying at university.

In 2018, I took part in various Workaway experiences, including natural building, permaculture, household tasks, and harvesting. These experiences taught me a lot about hands-on work, group living, and alternative lifestyles.

Over the past three years, I’ve been working at a consultancy firm in my field of study, meteorology, focusing on climate change, sustainability, and data analysis.
