Beschreibung

Hi! We’re Jacob and Evelin, a couple working as teachers at an international school, currently based in Hungary and previously living in the UK.

We love travelling and are especially drawn to less-travelled routes, not for adventure points, but because we enjoy slowing down, learning from people, and embracing local communities. For us, the best experiences come from everyday life, shared routines, and genuine connections.

We’re calm, reliable, and easy to live with. We value clear communication, respect shared spaces, and take pride in being tidy, considerate, and committed to following through on what we agree to.

Individually, Evelin enjoys DIY and hands-on projects, while Jacob loves long-distance hiking and spending time outdoors. We both enjoy cooking and experimenting with food, particularly European and Indian-inspired fusion dishes.

At home we have a lovely dog called Choccy, so we’re very comfortable around animals and always happy in pet-friendly environments.

We’re looking for Workaway experiences where we can contribute meaningfully, learn along the way, and feel part of a welcoming community rather than just passing through.

We are both confident and experienced in teaching English, with a clear, patient, and supportive approach that works well for learners of different ages and levels. We’re happy to help with conversational practice, structured lessons, pronunciation, or everyday practical English. At the same time, we genuinely enjoy being learners ourselves. We would love to learn new languages at any level, whether that means picking up basic phrases, improving conversation skills, or learning through day-to-day interaction within the community.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We are fully qualified teachers with safeguarding training, experienced in teaching children and adults. We are confident teaching English, as well as Mathematics, Economics, and Geography in English, and adapt easily to different ages and levels. Jacob is particularly great with younger children—patient, calm, and engaging. We’re also happy to help with general maintenance and DIY, including painting, small repairs, and creative projects such as crochet, prop building, and 3D work. We’re enthusiastic, capable cooks who enjoy preparing a wide range of dishes, especially European and Indian-inspired fusion food, and we have experience caring for animals including dogs, cats, and chickens.
