I grew up in the northeastern U.S. and have lived in Seattle, Washington, for the past three years. From a young age, I was passionate about travel—I saved all my earnings in high school to explore the world, an experience that deeply shaped my values and interests. When I returned to the U.S., I felt inspired to pursue my love for food and nutrition, which led me to Washington to earn my degree from Bastyr, a small naturopathic medicine school. With a background in both nutrition and culinary arts, I’ve spent the past year working as a personal chef, sharing my knowledge and skills with others. I'm excited to find WorkAway opportunities that allow me to build on my skills as a cook, as well as discover entirely new skills and experiences.
Outside of cooking, I’m an avid reader and writer (currently working on a short story!), and I love movement in all forms—running, yoga, dancing, hiking. I also enjoy making and listening to music, cold-plunging, and laughing with friends. I feel incredibly grateful for the life I live, and that feeling only deepens with time. I approach everything I do with enthusiasm and curiosity, and I can’t wait to see where this next adventure takes me!

Firstly, the location is prime: walking distance to temples, shrines, restaurants, shopping, bars, and the stunning Kamo river. I never felt that I'd run out of day trips, or bored of exploring the city, and when I wanted a quiet, restful day, the hostel felt like home.
