Hey, we're Genevieve and Jake! We're a couple from London who have been together for 3+ years. We've both left our jobs to experience life somewhere new. We are both very independent and don’t feel the need to spend all our time together. Having spent grown up in the UK, we both are itching to try somewhere new and spend some time in a different culture. We are both big film lovers (which is how we met!) and we love sharing our favourite films with one another. We are very easy-going, and enjoy meeting and having a drink with people. However, although we are social, we wouldn’t consider ourselves ‘party people’. We are both very disciplined, and take pride in our work. Workaway will give us a chance to both contribute our skills, whilst also getting the opportunity to experience somewhere brand new!

I'd love to work on my Spanish, as I studied this in university. I am also keen to learn other languages, especially French and Portuguese. A more random one is I'd love to learn Igbo if anyone knows it, as it is my family language! I'd be happy to trade lessons in English for another language :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Genevieve: My most recent job was as an Events Manager, where I was constantly meeting new people and clients. I am a very organised and disciplined person, as I managed both our events and also a team of 11 people. I have also worked as a tattoo artist, as an actor, as a kitchen-hand and also in the TV industry, so I have lots of different hands-on experiences and skills. I have experience in taking photos and creating online content as well. I am also a volunteer gardener for my local herb garden.

Jake: I have plenty of work experience in hospitality, meaning I am very used to providing a top quality service to new people and making people feel comfortable and at ease. I have a lot of experience as a bartender and a barista, and was promoted to being a supervisor at a group of cafés in London. I can also take photos and create content, and have experience making video content for my degree. In my spare time I love to write and have written articles for websites.

Genevieve: In my spare time, I enjoy watching films and reading. I am also a very active person, I have recently taken up roller skating and I currently volunteer in a herb garden. I love learning new skills and spending time with new groups of people. I love cycling, hiking, bouldering and am always up to try a new activity!

Jake: I see myself as a very creative person. I love film, and studied the subject to Masters level. I also write short stories in my spare time. I’d love to come and live a different lifestyle, making new memories amongst new people and new cultures. I am a friendly person, with a good sense of humour. I also love sports (in particular, football/soccer!) and enjoy being outside in nature.
