Hi, my name is Franka, happy to meet you!
I'm a connection and communication geek and have dedicated my working life to knowing myself, expressing myself creatively and playing with people, learning how we can be there for each other and to the immense joy of helping others do the same.

I've grown up, lived and worked internationally in Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia. For the last 10 years I've been based in The Netherlands, where I worked as a live-in residential manager for a residential project for refugees and locals. I've also been working as a communication trainer, mediator and coach using, among others, the tools of Nonviolent Communication (NVC), Internal Family systems (IFS), embodiment, creative expression, conscious touch and massage.
With a training, performance and management background in theater and music, I also have 20+ years of experience teaching music, drama/theater, English and French to people of all ages and cultures.

I love to work and hang out with people who want to express themselves freely, collaborate effectively, create their visions and experience play as a way of life!

Now that this residential project in The Netherlands has come to an end (due to redevelopment of the property), I'm traveling and exploring, with the hope of finding a new place for me to live, contribute and flourish, which feels exciting...
I like this exploration to be a heart-based, connective and regenerative experience and that the exchanges I have can bring even more joy, health, nourishment and peace to all of us and our environment.

What inspires me and brings me joy?
- Togetherness.
I love being with people who have a loving, respectful and compassionate attitude and like to share and collaborate for the wellbeing of everything and everyone on our beautiful planet.

- Creativity, the arts!
I sing and play saxophone (I have a broad musical palate, with a big love of World Music and Afro-Jazz-Fusion). I love to dance and I have taught music and drama to students of all ages. Improv - meeting each other and playing in the freshness of now :-).
I love making interdisciplinary art with people, stimulating our creativity through projects and performances that bring us all closer together.

- Compassionate connection and coaching.
I love supporting individuals, couples, families, groups and collectives to connect with what's important to them and to express and communicate this in a way that helps us meet everyone's needs and brings deeper connection and understanding.

- Community and social transformation.
I have invested time and energy in transformational learning and am a part of the Cultural Catalyst Network, Microsolidarity, Nonviolent Communication, Internal Family Systems and Embodied Intimacy communities. I keep learning...

- The beauty of nature and a collaborative way of living with it.
It's my dream to (co-)create or join a regenerative community, or flexible community space, ideally with a transformational learning and community service/upliftment component, in service of a world that works for all life.
I know that there are many of us who cherish this dream and are actively and courageously embracing its challenges and joys. It's an honour to meet you, to learn with and from you, to contribute and to be able to be there for each other on this path.

I love languages and their power to connect us! I'm a native English and Dutch speaker and also speak fluent French and Afrikaans. I have a TEFL (English language teaching) certification, as well as French language teaching experience. My Spanish is at intermediate level and I have a working knowledge of German, Italian and Portuguese. I once spoke a fair bit of Zulu and Bahasa Indonesia (which come back when I'm fully immersed in the language/country). I love teaching through play, creativity and interaction.

I am a well-traveled, multilingual people-person with a sunny disposition and a love for everything that is creative, sustainable, uplifting and empowering.
A communicator at heart, I love being and working with people of all ages and backgrounds and am a warm and compassionate host/organiser.
My passion for nature has me walking for miles, climbing high, diving deep ( I have a PADI advanced certification) and being open to learning everything there is to know about the natural world.
I would love to learn more about sustainable organic/biodynamic/permaculture farming and the ins and outs of running a retreat/resort based on eco and fair trade principles.
I really appreciate a sense of community and love to support that wherever I am. My musicianship has also definitely contributed to this over the years and my work as a Nonviolent Communication trainer adds another dimension to connection and community. Heart-based connection is my default setting :-)
I live a healthy, positive life with an openminded awareness and enjoy being around people who actively share this outlook.
