I am Manon and I am currently cycling around the world with my companion Flavien. Previously a social worker with people with disabilities, then in child protection, meetings are a source of wealth for me. I have always learned from each of them, and I still wish I would on this trip! I have always enjoyed travel, new experiences, music, all that is manual and cultural activity.

Flavien : On a long-term cycling trip, I want to take the opportunity to learn new skills, discover new ways of life and meet new people. My work as a sound technician has allowed me to collaborate as a team for more than ten years, with people from various backgrounds. I would be delighted to rediscover this dynamic by committing myself to Workaway volunteering. I was also lucky enough to live in London for almost two years, where I worked as a commis chef. This experience allowed me to learn to speak English, but I would like to have more practice to perfect it, and it seems that Workaway also offers this opportunity.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Manon : Auparavant éducatrice spécialisée, j'ai été amenée à gérer toute la mise en place de projets concernant des personnes en situation de handicap, ainsi que des enfants placés (activités diverses, gestion d'équipe, logistique au sein d'établissements)...
J'ai également participé à la mise en place d'un mouvement éco-citoyen et de jardins partagés au sein de mon village.
Je suis motivée et curieuse d'apprendre.

Flavien : J'ai travaillé en équipe pendant plus de 10 ans en tant que technicien son lors de la préparation d'événements. J'ai également eu l'opportunité d'aménager un van, ce qui m'a beaucoup appris dans le domaine de la construction. J'ai également participé à plusieurs projets de rénovation. En outre, j'ai eu la chance de travailler avec un ami qui possède une ferme biologique avec des animaux, notamment des brebis dont nous récupérions le lait pour en faire des glaces. J'ai acquis des compétences en jardinage en participant à un projet de jardin partagé dans un village du sud de la France. Grâce à un séjour de deux ans à Londres, où je travaillais en cuisine, j'ai appris à parler anglais. Par ailleurs, j'ai souvent fait du baby-sitting pour aider les personnes de mon village. Je joue un peu de guitare et j'aime apprendre de nouvelles choses.

Manon : Previously a social worker, I managed all the implementation of projects concerning people with disabilities, as well as foster children (various activities, team management, logistics within establishments)...
I also participated in setting up an eco-citizen movement and shared gardens in my village.
I am motivated and curious to learn.

Flavien : I worked in a team for more than 10 years as a sound technician during the preparation of events. I also had the opportunity to fit out a van, which taught me a lot about construction. I also participated in several renovation projects. In addition, I had the chance to work with a friend who owns an organic farm with animals, including sheep whose milk we collect to make ice cream. I learned gardening skills by participating in a shared garden project in a village in the south of France. Thanks to a two-year stay in London, where I worked in the kitchen, I learned to speak English. In addition, I often did babysitting to help people in my village. I play a little guitar and I like to learn new things.
