Beschreibung

Mit navn er Esther og jeg er en 21-årig pige fra Danmark

I min fritid nyder jeg keramik, hækling og bagning. Jeg har brugt en stor del af mit sabbatår på at rejse – senest to måneder i Mellemamerika. Men jeg har også rejst i Asien og Sydamerika.

I fremtiden vil jeg gerne læse medicin, men som de fleste unge i Danmark tager jeg et par sabbatår inden jeg starter på universitetet, for at arbejde og rejse verden rundt på repeat.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have lived in Greenland for two months, where I worked as a substitute teacher in a small town of 2,000 people. Due to the severe shortage of teachers there, I was responsible for both a 1st-grade and a 7th-grade class as their class teacher for two months. I taught Danish, English, Math, and Science.

I love working with children and have also done babysitting for several families over the past six years.

Was noch ...

In my daily life, I work at an activity center for blind people, where I provide personal assistance and social support. I also work at a boarding school for students aged 14–17, many of whom are living away from home for the first time. In Denmark, it is quite common for young people to spend a year at this type of boarding school, where they focus on something that interests them. For example, our school specializes in theater, dance, and music. I work night and weekend shifts of up to 30 hours, where I am the only adult responsible for the 80 students. It is my job to facilitate activities for the students and make sure that they have an adult, that they can share ups and downs with.
