Beschreibung
We're Edu (29 years old, from Spain) and Margot (27 years old, from the Netherlands) and we've been in traveling since April 2022. Before our trip we were living and working in the Netherlands to make our backpacking trip possible. Finally, we quit our jobs and left home! We don't have a fixed plan or time limit, so we're very flexible and are open for new opportunities and experiences along the way. We're interested in learning new skills and getting to know the local life by doing workaway. What brings us happiness are meaningful experiences, creative activities, exercise in nature, and eating (vegetarian) food. We're active, reliable and considerate people with respect to others and the environment. We're familiar with couchsurfing, which we enjoy very much, and we think that workaway can be a very meaningful way to give back and spend a longer period of time in one place to experience traveling in a more slow-paced way.

We've both studied our university degrees in English, so we're fluent with an academic level. We have also both studied humanities/social sciences fields, and we have a special interest in languages. We love learning new words while traveling!

Was könntest du arbeiten?
Since we've arrived in Australia, we've worked at a roadhouse in Kalgoorlie and at a sandalwood plantation in Corrigin, close to Perth.
Edu: I have experience doing farm work (I worked in a farmland in Spain for 6 consecutive summers), with agricultural as well as mechanical knowledge, and I can handle heavy machinery. In a more technical level, my experience is in logistics, since I worked as Inventory Associate for a large and fast-growing online supermarket in the Netherlands (called Gorillas). My responsibilities included managing the inventory inside the warehouse, coordinating over the products availability, quality and inventory accuracy, as well as overseeing waste managing and demand planning with suppliers. I have some experience in hospitality and I can cook nice Spanish food!
Margot: I have experience in the hospitality branch. I worked as a waitress and as a museum guide, so I've good communication skills and I'm a flexible, stress-resistant worker. I also have experience as a fruit sorter and packer when I worked in Australia for three months. Besides this, I've worked for the municipal health service in the Netherlands which involved interviewing positively tested covid patients and handling large databases. In my free time, I like to do macrame (knotting jewelry) and drawing/painting. I also enjoy cooking vegatarian/vegan food and I've volunteered at a cultural organization which rescued wasted food from shops and restaurants to make a donation-based 'no waste' dinner.

We love music and we like a wide range genres, but especially rock music, reggae, indie, and psytrance. Edu plays the guitar and Margot plays the piano. We like reading, hiking, swimming, biking, climbing, playing cards, watching movies, and petting animals. Margot likes to do macrame and Edu likes to play chess.
