Hey there! 😊
We’re Dominique and Jan, a joyful couple on a mission to live more slowly, connect deeply with nature, and make a positive impact wherever we go.
After escaping the hustle of city life and 9-to-5 jobs in Germany, we’re embracing a lighter, laughter-filled way of living – finding beauty in the smallest things.
A bit about us:
I’m Dominique: I left retail years ago to train as a yoga teacher in India, became a fitness coach, learned Thai Yoga Massage, Reiki, and other energy work. Travel has always called me back – after trips to India, Thailand, and later (with Jan) the Dominican Republic, Colombia, Mexico, and the Canary Islands, I feel happiest immersing in new cultures and sharing experiences with like-minded people.
I’m Jan: I quit my engineering job at the end of 2019 to chase a dream of walking the Silk Road and doing meaningful hands-on work, especially gardening. Life had other plans – I met Dominique while we both drove for a sustainable grocery delivery service!
After our first big trip together, we returned to Germany briefly. Jan designed and built a thriving market garden to supply us, friends, and neighbors with fresh veggies. Then, in just one year, he fully converted our van into a cozy home on wheels using ultra-lightwood, complete with everything we need.
We both now work remotely (about 15 hours a week each), which gives us flexibility to travel and volunteer.
We’re currently searching for a new home base outside our home country and would love to connect with hosts who’ve already made this leap. We’re eager to learn from your experiences, hear your stories, and get practical insights!
We bring practical skills (gardening, building, maintenance, fitness/yoga/massage), lots of enthusiasm, and a positive vibe. Excited to meet you and contribute to your project! 🌿✨

Was könntest du arbeiten?

We’re always curious and love learning new skills—especially understanding how things work or how they’re made. Wherever we stay, we’re happy to lend a helping hand and get involved wherever it’s needed.
Dominique:
I’ve been helping in the garden since I was a child—my family grew lots of fruits and vegetables. My grandpa taught me many practical skills while we renovated the family house together, from laying tiles to wallpapering. There were always animals around—guinea pigs, dogs, and cats—that I lovingly took care of.
I’m passionate about cooking, adore being in nature, and love putting smiles on the faces of the people around me. While building our van, I found great joy in sewing our own futon mattress, crocheting, and creating cozy details.
Jan:
I bring strong technical skills from my apprenticeship as an industrial mechanic. After studying engineering, I worked in various roles as a designer and project manager. Our biggest project so far has been converting our van—almost entirely with natural materials—and it turned out perfectly suited to the two of us.
I’m really good at teaching myself new abilities, like playing fingerstyle guitar or even snowboarding.
I love being surrounded by nature and quickly make friends with every dog and cat I meet on our travels.
