Hi,

I have previously been to India (COVID cut this short), spent time in Spain and Portugal where I voulunteered with language students and at a wonderful dog rescue in Portugal. Last year I was fortunate enough to visit Jordan and spend 10 weeks in Greece island hopping, house sitting and volunteering at an animal rescue. I also completed a sailing course.

I now have plans to go back to India and/or go to Thailand and continue my travels in between volunteering. I love doing this as an alternative to the 9-5 routine. I have always beleived in volunteering within my own community.

During lockdown I house sat and looked after two wonderful dogs whose owner had died until they were able to eventually go to their new home.

I am hardworking, flexible and endeavour to remain cheerful, being able to see the positives in most situations.

I have previously worked for local government and in the hospitality and retail trade. All work experience has been working with the public and I am now seeking more variety.

I enjoy meeting other volunteers as it can get lonley travelling alone and it is good to have company and/or to visit places together.

Cooking - I love to cook and try new foods and flavours.

Writing - If you need something written for a blog or advertising what you do I can help with that. I have previous experience of writing more formal reports for Courts in my time working as a Probation (Parole) Officer if something more formal is required.

I like to think I am a quick learner and like to learn new skills.

I make jewellery in my spare time and this takes patience and the ability to keep trying until I get it right when learning new techniques.

I can take part in craft projects which involve beading and making simple jewellery or help to teach others.

I have worked in bars and hotels so am good with customers and solving problems. I have also worked on campsites and as a holiday rep.

I love animals and happy to walk dogs, pet sit etc. Cleaning their poo is not a problem. It's part of looking after your beloved pets.

I would be able to help others improve their English skills.
