Beschreibung

Mark and I met travelling in Cambodia over 6 years ago. Both of us have travelled with friends, solo and many times together. We have a shared love of experiencing new places, trying new things and meeting new people.

During travels in Australia we turned away from our usual careers and spent just under 2 months on a dairy farm and, then, 2 months on a banana farm. These jobs taught us a lot of new skills. We always received positive feedback about our enthusiasm and work ethic and we don’t shy away from a bit of hard work.

In Canada, we did a workaway on two hobby farms. The first we helped with various tasks including starting the squash garden, managing Mason Bees, moving mulch, cutting back plants and organising fallen limbs from winter storms. On the second workaway we helped with winter garden preparation including harvesting produce, de-weeding, clearing garden beds, hedge trimming, some minor landscaping and indoor help around the property including cleaning and cooking.
In the Canadian summer we worked on a resort where Deb took on a full-time role in the housekeeping team and Mark worked as part of the maintenance team, mainly focused on outdoors upkeep.

We would like to develop skills such as farming, agriculture, gardening, sustainable living, carpentry/DIY and any outdoors skills.

Mark’s career has been in IT infrastructure (engineer) and Deb’s in the non-profit sector. We have tried our hands at many different jobs on our travels so are really adaptable. We’re looking to further this through new workaway experiences.
