Beschreibung

Jess: I am very motivated by people - I love learning about other cultures, trying the local food, and improving my meagre Spanish. Genuine interactions and sharing knowledge brings me a lot of joy, and I think workaways are a great way of doing this.

Daniel: I love understanding how things work, not just skills and crafts but the natural world as well. I get a lot of joy from sharing skills and music, and from building things. I am totally new to the Spanish language but am ready to dive in!

We both enjoy being hands-on and getting involved, and are happy to try our hand at almost anything. Other activities that make us happy include: being outside; swimming, hiking, climbing, water sports, and spending time with good company. We are both pretty social but also love solo time to reflect and read books.

I am an experimental archaeologist and have worked at open-air museums, where I have gained a range of skills:

- First aid qualified
- Coordinating volunteers: I have coordinated teams of volunteers to help build roundhouses
- Social media: I have managed the social media account for museums I have worked for
- Some natural building skills: weaving hazel and thatching roofs for open air museums.
- Coppicing hazel
- CELTA qualification: teaching English as a foreign language
- Customer experience: I have managed inquiries and have been customer facing in previous roles
- Animal care: I have experience caring for sheep, goats, and alpacas on farms
- Working with children: I used to deliver immersive archaeology experience days to schools
- Full UK driving license

I am keen to develop my natural/earth/eco-building skills!

Very willing to get stuck in to anything hands-on and practical, from building and landscaping to bicycle and car maintenance. Competent (but not formally trained) with many tools and general DIY skills. I studied engineering to masters level at university which is not super useful for workaways but I am good at maths!

- Lifelong sea fisherman, some experience with rivers and fresh water. Can gut and fillet fish
- Former scout leader; happy to work with kids
- Full UK driving license
- Intermediate level surfer
- Happy around all animals including horses.
- Not a master chef but can cook well enough

We met playing Ultimate Frisbee and are both keen sailors.

We both love board games, from Backgammon to Catan and up to Brass and Arcs.

Daniel will DM Dungeons and Dragons if you want him to!
