Hello!

We’re a couple from Australia, aged 22 and 23, travelling with the intention of learning through real-life experience and meaningful contribution. We’re both practical, hands-on people who enjoy working hard, learning new skills, and being part of everyday life wherever we are.

We joined Workaway because we value experiences that go beyond tourism. We’re hoping to grow through helping others, learning from different cultures, and experiencing a wide range of lifestyles and kinds of work. We’re especially interested in opportunities where we can contribute genuinely, take responsibility, and be part of a team or community.

We both work well independently and as part of a team, and we’re not afraid of a challenge :)

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Jai:
I am a qualified builder with extensive hands-on experience, having worked in the construction industry since the age of 15 on a wide range of residential and commercial projects, including working FIFO on an remote aluminium mine in Australia. My background has equipped me with strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, time management, and the capacity to work efficiently in demanding environments.
I currently work with troubled youth in both one-on-one and group settings, where I apply structure, fitness-based engagement, and mindset development to support positive behavioural change and life skills. My experience includes working independently and as part of teams in high-pressure settings.
I have also developed strong mental resilience and discipline through things like, a 10-day Vipassana silent meditation course in Nepal, Muay Thai training in Thailand, and completing the Annapurna Circuit together in the Himalayas at 5,420 metres.

Cynthia:
I have professional experience across hospitality, administration and management, and support work.
I am trained in first aid and have volunteered as a surf life saver in Australia. I just recently completed 100 hours of yoga teacher training in Nepal, giving me a solid foundation in movement, body awareness, and safe physical instruction. I work well independently and in team-based and outdoor settings, and am comfortable with physically demanding tasks.
I also love to cook and have a solid understanding of whole food nutrition etc.

I speak intermediate German and can confidently read, understand and hold conversations. I am also currently learning Spanish.
My passion however, is Art. I am a painter and (beginner) graphic designer. I love to bring creativity into all areas of my life.

We’re both non-drinkers and generally live a healthy, balanced lifestyle. We’re morning people, enjoy having a routine, and are happiest when our days include meaningful work.
