Beschreibung

My name is Colin and I am 35 years old. I am from the United States, I graduated from university in Scotland, and I’ve been living in Istanbul, Turkey for 10 years. I work at a university teaching academic skills to first year engineering students.

I am a reliable and responsible person who takes things seriously while also maintaining a healthy sense of humor - I really appreciate being around people who make me laugh (which isn't difficult). I maintain a healthy lifestyle with daily exercise and nutritious cooking - I'm no master chef, but I prepare most of my own healthy and filling meals with fresh, whole foods. I live alone so I am pretty self-sufficient, but I really enjoy connecting and talking with people of all different backgrounds.

In my free time I most enjoy walking around the city with my camera photographing interesting moments or scenes that catch my attention and showing love to the street dogs I come across (they are everywhere in Istanbul!).

For outdoor activities I like hiking, rollerblading (or biking), and swimming (especially in natural bodies of water).

To relax I enjoy reading fiction, looking at photography books, and listening to podcasts about history, art, and sport.

Currently I work as a university teacher, but my past work experience includes food preparation, food service, house painting (interior), and landscaping (planting, mulching, mowing, trimming, edging, etc.).

As a teacher, I am lucky to have a lot of free time in the summer to travel, meet people, and experience new things. However, I prefer to have structure and routine in my life to help me stay busy. That is why I am seeking a work-stay experience – to have a productive and fulfilling experience while connecting with new people and exploring a new place.
