Beschreibung

Hi, we are two roommates with a longing for wandering in the wild. We've met half a year ago and had an amazing family-like connection from the start. We're both warm, open-minded people. We love nature, socializing, learning and good conversations. We both have our own talents and interests, so we wrote a little bit about ourself. Together with doggy Miko, make a great team

Cleo:
I'm a social sunset lover. i'm a creative outdoorsy soul so there are mostly some traces of earth, sand, glue or paint on my body. I love to learn new skills, meet people and go on adventures.
Some random things about me: I'm vegan, I love watersports (swim, surf, kayak, snorkel and sup), in wintertime I love skiing and ice-skating, I love the color yellow, my dogs name is Miko, i like to draw and write poems. I love meeting new people, inlcuding you, so nice to meet you :)

Arno:
I'm a social, friendly helpful down to earth guy who likes to challenge himself in every possible way. I love to learn and try new things and skills, meet new people, connect and get lost in nature. I love to capture memories on my analog camera or you can see me taking pictures of sunrises and sunsets while beeing super excited about it. I like to explore my own creativity through drawing, painting, crafting and writing. If i get the chance you wont find me at home but rather hiking, camping, exploring or helping people out. Fairly recent you can find me in and on the water on my SUP-board.
I really enjoy some good music but i haven't found the time to play music myself, i do own a harmonica.I find cooking quiet relaxing and love to do it. I'm vegan so i make plant based dishes. So to speak, eggplant might be my favourite vegetable. To get a full inside in my backpack that i'm carrying i'd say we should meet so you can see for yourself :)

Miko: I'm the little friendly dog joining on the travels. I can be very active for 15 minutes and very lazy for hours. I love nature too. Sometimes I go on the sup with my human or we do long walks in the woods. I'm very friendly to animals but I do bark at birds or cats sometimes. I'm nice to all humans because I know they give me food. I like to walk around and do my own thing. Sometimes I might come to you for attention, because I do like hugs.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Cleo:
I'm a teacher for children with special needs. I'm the one running the project class. Which means I teach my kids (and myself) lots of new skills. Mostly related to: getting to know new cultures, gardening, DIY and sustainability. We like to work with second hand materials and upgrade them so they can be used in our class or school interior. This schoolyear will be my last, since I would like to start a new adventure.
I'm a creative person, I like playing music (ukulele and piano), drawing and painting. At the moment I'm studying graphic design.
I'm very social. I did an international Erasmus where i specialized in story telling and outdoor education. I lived together with people from all over the world for 2 months in Denmark and 2 moths in Oslo.
I can entertain too: I followed an animator course and spent 20 days as an animator for an English language camp in Malta.
A few years ago I took cooking classes for pastries and breakfast, so you can also put me in the kitchen. I'm mostly skilled at making vegan food since I eat mostly vegan myself.
Now I’m learning how to surf, figure skate, play piano, speak Spanish & German and I’m taking yoga classes. I'm not good enough to teach those skills yet but I’m a fast learner.
Last summer I had my first work-away experience and i'm looking foreward to the next.

Arno:
Currently i work as a maintenance cleaner in a hospital, where i clean the operating rooms and offices. I do some logistical tasks every now and then. Prior to this i worked as a warehouse operator. I also got experience in several supermarkets when i was studying. During my time in school i briefly studied the basics of cooking, electricity & carpenting.
I ended up studying Sales and recieved my degree but I went in another direction.

In my free time i like to explore my own creativity and challenge myself. So that's why i'm studying graphic design. At the moment i'm also taking cooking classes for plant based dishes to get more knowledge.

I work as a volunteer for a Belgian organisation which organises volunteertrips to international projects for youth and young adults 15-30.
I did several trips aswel.

Iceland, where i worked in a international group in a remote mountain area restoring the mountain ridge hiking trails, a little bit of construction, lots of trash cleaning.
In that time i learned a lot about cooking skills, construction work and enviromental awareness.

Croatia, I worked with several international young adults in a nature reserve to protect the surrounding area. I've build dry-stone walls and managed the vegitation. I helped with getting a view on the wildlife population by participating in a bird ringing session.
I learned a lot about myself during this trip. Also about the enviroment and how important ecosystems are and that we should protect them at all costs.

My next trip will be in Belgium where i will learn the basics about perma culture which i'm eager to learn about.

If i'm not on a volunteer trip i'm helping out at the organisation itself. Giving information at exhibitions, public speaking and inspiring people with my stories which i love to do.
Helping out elderly people is something that i do aswel. Mostly with DIY tasks. Fixing a closet, painting, computer tasks.

I'd consider my language skills fairly decent.
My mother tongue is Dutch.
I speak basic french and I'd say my english is good.
I plan on learning Spanish and German and improve my French when i get the chance or rather find the time.
