Hello!

I’m from the UK, recently moved over to Aotearoa after falling in love on a visit last year. I have a love for identifying birds and weaving, spinning, and general wool-craft. I’m generally curious about all sorts and always willing to try something new.

I’ve worked on farms before so I have the strength to lift a calf from a heifer, which means I’ve got the strength to help build fences and create gardens and I’d love to get stuck in!

Handling and health experience with cows, chickens, ducks, horses, dogs, cats, reptiles, anything scaly, feathery or otherwise hairy! If I feel like there are gaps in my knowledge I’m always keen to learn more and understand how each animal can be a bit different.

I manage a small veggie and flower garden back home but know the climate here is different!

I love meeting new people, chatting when there’s time, and exploring new areas. I have a car here in NZ as well so have the ability to get to/from places easily.

I come from a family of board game enthusiasts, and always carry a pack of cards (I particularly love playing Rummy!).

Theresa stayed with us for only a few days, but we really enjoyed having her with us. She helped around the garden, in the house and of course, with the dogs. Theresa was such a joy to have stay -a breath of fresh air
Great conversation with everyone she came across
I was recovering from an operation so she was able to do gardening that I needed done among other things

Vom Workawayer () für Host (Help needed on a small dairy ...)

I stayed with Carolyn for a week in late February and had a fab time! Spent most of my working hours weeding and got shown around the farm and helped out during milking a few times too. Absolutely stunning views, and the company - both animal and human - is excellent. I can’t recommend Carolyn’s workaway enough!
