Hi there! My name is Bahar, and I am 28 years old. I am passionate about traveling and learning about new cultures. I am a second-generation Afghan American, and my parent's experience in America has influenced my fascination and curiosity for other cultures and ways of life. Since finishing university, I have worked in the energy sector, specifically in discovering ways for residential buildings to reduce energy consumption. In the future, I plan to continue doing this type of work but shift it towards an angle that also intersects with the impact sustainability can have on people.

I plan on taking a gap year starting in September of 2023 and hope to begin my travels in South America.

I have several years of experience working with people in the service industry in restaurants and retail stores. I also have a dog but have cared for other animals, including horses, cats, and bunnies. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, as well as having conversations about the nuances of life.

For the last five years, I have worked in property management and energy analysis for public housing and residential buildings. I studied a multidisciplinary science major at university, focusing on energy and sustainability.
