Hi my name is Anthony Allen and firstly I'd like to say thank you for popping into my profile and it gives me great pleasure to welcome you.

I love adventure, experiencing new cultures and learning new languages. I also love to read - mainly philosophy and history. I am a really curious person :) As well as that, I enjoy health and fitness and the outdoors.

To date I have lived in 6 countries - I spent my childhood in the countryside of Ireland and as an adult I've lived in Australia, England, Kuwait, Spain and Iceland. I am currently back living in Ireland, where I grew up. During my 2 years in Iceland, I really enjoyed learning the Icelandic language.

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher (I studied in England) who has worked across three countries (Ireland, England and Kuwait) and I have studied a number of masters modules in International Affairs at the University of Iceland recently.

I'm currently involved in building a community that involves regular events that cultivate the body, mind and soul - in Ireland. I am also very interested in deliberative democracy and I want to play a part in developing more citizen assemblies in Ireland.

My reason for being on Workaway, at the moment, is that I want to find a place in Italy to learn Italian and immerse myself in the culture.

I can help out in whatever way is required. I am a quick learner and a hard worker. I am very open to supporting people in learning and improving their English. I have thought English as a second language in Iceland and Ireland.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I am a fully qualified primary school teacher with 5+ years of experience, teaching across multiple countries so I am well used to being around children of all ages. In the school environment I worked, the children were from ages 5-12.

I have also worked as an additional needs assistant in a secondary school (ages 12-18) in Ireland for 2 years. In this role I was supporting children in the classroom who needed extra learning support.

I am well eqipped to do general housework and cooking also. I have been living independently for many years and I am happy to help out around the house in any way possible.
