Hello future friends!

I’m Anna, 30, from the Czech Republic. I love travelling, meeting new people, good food and getting myself into all kinds of new experiences.

I’ve lived and worked in a few different countries, including UK, Denmark, Mexico, Canada and France, and I’ve learned that travelling for me is not really just about visiting places. I enjoy staying somewhere for a while, meeting local people, working together and becoming a little part of everyday life.

I’ve been working in gastronomy for around ten years, mostly as a chef, including running kitchens and working with some really lovely teams. I love cooking, especially with seasonal ingredients, fermentation and discovering new flavours. I also think food tells you a lot about people and the place where you are.

Recently I’ve been working more in event production and hospitality, which I really enjoy too. I’m quite an organised person when it comes to work, I like solving problems and I’m definitely not afraid of getting my hands dirty.

Outside of work, I love being outdoors. Hiking, snowboarding, cycling, yoga, gardening, making things, going to concerts and generally trying anything new. I currently live on a houseboat near Prague, which has also taught me a few things about fixing stuff and improvising!

I’ve wanted to visit Japan for a really long time. I’m especially curious about Japanese food, culture, nature and everyday life. My plan is to come for the winter season, hopefully spend some time in the mountains, and then travel around Japan in spring.

I would love to help with cooking, gardening, creative projects, hospitality or really anything where I can be useful and learn something new along the way.

I’m quite independent, but I also really enjoy being around people, sharing meals, stories and a good laugh.

Cooking (professional chef, around 10 years of experience), kitchen management, fermentation, food preparation, event production and organisation, hospitality, gardening, general house maintenance, basic DIY and creative projects, working with animals, problem-solving and working in a team.

I’m used to physical work, long days when needed and figuring things out when things don’t go exactly according to plan.

Was noch ...

I’m a big music lover and I really enjoy concerts, especially punk and live music. I love cooking for people, long dinners, good conversations and discovering new cultures through food.

I enjoy both busy, social places and being somewhere quiet in nature. Give me mountains, a good hike, a snowboard, an interesting little project or a kitchen full of nice people and I’ll probably be very happy.

I’m always curious to learn something new, especially practical skills and crafts. I like people who don’t take themselves too seriously, and I think a good sense of humour makes almost any situation better.
