Hello,
My name is Anaximander, but I also go by my middle name, which is Jason. I am from a small town north of Boston, Massachusetts, USA, but I have lived and worked all over the United States and in a few other countries. I am good with my hands, and have put them to work in many different jobs (See “Skills” section below). I am a seasoned traveller, and I have lived out of a backpack on-and-off for several years now. I have been to 20something countries and 41 U.S. states, but there is much more of the world I would like to see. I hold both US and German passports.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I have worked in construction, landscaping and gardening. My construction experience includes pouring and finishing concrete, trenching, laying pipe and electrical conduit, building stone walls and patios (with and without mortar), and a bit of work with insulation and drywall. I‘m no master carpenter, but I have used most basic hand and power tools. I wouldn’t call myself a mechanic, but I can turn a wrench. I have a bit of experience running heavy machinery as well, but I’m no expert. I have a bit of a green thumb, and I love to work with plants. I have worked in a few ski shops, so I can adjust, wax and sharpen skis and snowboards. I am trained in primitive wilderness survival, and I have taught these skills to children and adults at a summer camp. I have an undergrad degree in environmental science, with a concentration in environmental field research. I am an experienced commercial fisherman and mariner, with a total of over a year spent at sea in the waters off of Alaska and California, as well as one Atlantic crossing in a 49‘ Sloop. I am CPR and first-responder certified, and I am a certified Fishing Vessel Safety Drill Conductor. I am a fast learner, and I am eager to learn new skills and improve the ones I have.

In short, I’m not quite an expert on anything, but I’ve done a little bit of a lot of things.
