Beschreibung

Hi, we're Alissa & Leo from the UK. We are excited to travel around Japan for the next year and both hold a working holiday visa.

Alissa:
I’m a multidisciplinary graphic designer with 8 years of expertise in branding, website and packaging design working with clients in various sectors including hospitality, fashion, property and not-for-profit. I also love to draw, take photographs on film and ultimately enjoy partaking in any hands-on creative projects.
I have a constant desire to explore, whether that’s wondering around a new neighbourhood, visiting an exhibition or hiking. I am lucky to have already lived in London, Melbourne and Singapore and I am extremely excited to be in Japan for the next year. Beyond work and travelling I also love cooking & discovering delicious restaurants, yoga and cycling.
I am interested in improving my beginner-level Japanese, making new friends and learning new skills.

Leo:
I'm a manager at a boutique cinema establishment. I have over 4 years experience in hospitality, and have further work experience in Human Resources, humanitarian charities, copywriting and English tutoring. I love staying active and being outside, especially hiking, cycling and playing football, but I'm always eager to try new activities and learn new skills.
I'm passionate about protecting the environment and have a Master's in Environmental Policy. I'm interested in working on sustainbility initiatives during our travels. I also love film photography, writing and collecting vinyl records - I hope to build up my collection while travelling Japan. I've recently resumed my Japanese language studies and would like to progress beyond the lower-intermediate level during our time in Japan.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

Alissa:
I have skills in all things graphic design from designing a logo, posters, social media posts, websites and packaging. I am proficient in Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign) and Figma.
I have also worked in hospitality, making & serving drinks from cocktails to coffees, as well as providing warm and welcoming front of house services.
I am in the process of writing and designing a cookbook with traditional Gujarati (a state in Northern India) recipes and therefore love to cook. I am proficient at cooking a range of dishes from different cuisines primarily English, Indian, East Asian and Italian.
I am a hands-on quick learner open to sharing and learning new skills.

Leo:
I have extensive work experience as manager in a luxury hospitality environment, working behind a bar making cocktails and coffees, delegating tasks to a large team and providing excellent customer service.
I have also done several workaways in the past at hostels and hotels, doing room changes, deep cleaning, checking in guests and escorting guests on local activities.
I have solid experience of both voluntary and paid one-to-one English tutoring and have received my TEFL 120 Hour certificate in 2023.
I have experience working as a freelance copywriter and can provide writing work for a variety of purposes such as commercial websites, social media and blog posts, travel writing and research topics.
