I am a traveling teacher who loves surfing, hiking and immersing myself in nature, preferably while getting to now people from all over the globe. I also do some yoga, meditation and try gardening...

Beschreibung

Hi there,

my name is Alex. I was born in Germany, where I spent about 25 years of my life before realising that travelling is one of my passions. Since then I've traveled, lived, worked and volunteered in many different countries. I love getting to know different cultures, people and landscapes.

I have a deep love for the ocean, its protection as well as caring about the land and its living creatures. So some of my other passions include surfing, hiking, recycling, up-cycling and gardening. In the past few years, my interest in permaculture and ecobuilding has grown. I have previously volunteered on a permaculture farm in Indonesia (where we planned and built a beautiful spiral-shaped decomposting toilet + bathroom made from natural stone and bamboo) and helped out at a farm in Tarragona (Spain).
I've worked in many different fields but my 'main job' has been teaching (Biology and Chemistry). During my time in schools I've always been known as the 'green fairy' because I started school gardens, took kids to beach clean-ups, started anti-plastic campaigns and many more cool things to inspire our next generation.

I have quit my teaching job in January to pick up travelling, learning spanish, learning about permaculture and being free again. Right now I am discovering Spain with my travel companion Kark (a Ford Transit which I have converted to a camper, using almost entirely recycled wood and other material).

My knowledge in permaculture and ecobuilding practises is in its baby shoes, but I am a dedicated person when I commit myself to something I love... and I am keen to learn about those things that will in the end save our planet (or ourselves): connecting back with nature and each other and live a simple life in harmony with our surroundings.
