Hello hosts,
I'm Alex, a 23 year old from Ontario now living on Vancouver island. I will be traveling to south america this winter to immerse my self in different cultures and ecosystems. I love meeting new people and learning new languages. My favorite things to do while traveling is volunteer at farms/fincas. All I need to be happy is nice company and nature :)
I love playing music and I hope to share songs throughout my travels.
Some of my core values are honest communication, open mindedness, fun, and seeking to understand the experience of others.

Other things I enjoy are swimming, hiking, being in nature, playing drums and guitar. I'm very interested in exploring consciousness through plant medicine and meditation and hope to find ways to explore these in my travels.

As for previous Workaway experience, I have worked at hostels in Japan, Malaysia, and Thailand doing reception, housekeeping, cooking, and being a "social person". I have also worked on a dairy farm in Japan, and a permaculture farm in Mexico. In my regular life I work as a landscaper and thoroughly enjoy working with the land.

Hola, soy Alex. Vivo en el oeste de Canada en un pequeña isla magica que se llama Salt Spring. Me encanta encontrar nuevos amigos/as con workaway. Me gusta tocar musica, disfrutar de la naturaleza, y aprender idiomas. Me gusta viajar por todo lo que aprendo. Me interesa utilisar workaway para aprender sobre la cultura indigena, la agricultura, español, plantas medicinales, y para convivir con gente amable. Me importa la comunicación honesta, estar sin prejuicios, la divercion, y tratar de entender el mundo de otras personas.

Estoy acostumbrado a hacer trabajo physico y tengo experiencia trabajando en la carpenteria, entonces me gustaria encontrar intercambios con trabajo physico como en las granjas o la permacultura, pero estoy abierto con cualquier cosa.
