I am currently in Sydney but looking to explore as much of Australia as I can, learning about the culture and wildlife along the way!

Beschreibung

I have always found joy in movement, whether that be the physical movement of my body or a move to change my surroundings and situations. For as long as I can remember I have never enjoyed being tied to one place, and I have always longed to travel and see as much of the world as I can. However, I have always struggled with doing things alone and I sometimes find it hard to put myself out there in new social situations. I am originally from the UK/Ireland and have lived in the USA and Italy. I travelled to Australia in September 2024 alone and after travelling the East Coast for 2 months I have realised the joy in exploring a new place every day and meeting new people to forge experiences with, no matter how seemingly small. After spending time in Melbourne and Sydney to save up some money, I have realised how miserable sedentary city life makes me and the desire I have to seek out new places, experiences, and people is what makes me truly happy. I have joined Workaway as a way to challenge myself to new experiences and as a way to pursue my love for travel and adventure. One of the main things I have enjoyed since beginning my solo travels is the small snapshots into others' lives. I am really interested in the different ways people all around the world live and how we all make our own experiences unique. I love that Workaway presents the opportunity to become a part of someone else's world for a while. With these experiences, I hope to learn about and appreciate the places I travel to, and to contribute to how they operate and survive, rather than just passing through as an observer.

Was könntest du arbeiten?

I love learning new skills and one of my main skills is that I am a fast learner and quick to adapt.
I have grown up around animals all of my life and I have experience with horse care, dog training, and farm work.
I am a Cambridge certified ESOL (English as a second language) teacher and I have experience teaching age ranges from 4 - adult in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
I have child care experience from teaching and I have grown up in a very large extended family and so have years of experience with various younger family members. Being a creative, I love to make up stories to tell them or games for them to play or simply to take them outside to explore.
I am a keen problem solver and love to be presented with an opportunity to find a creative solution to any problem.
I love art in all forms, particularly film and music. I have a Film Theory degree and I play guitar and always enjoy discussions on films, music or books and poetry.
I am a trained barista and I have a love of all things coffee and I am also working on my cocktail knowledge and crafting.

Was noch ...

I mainly find happiness from nature, whether that be being outside or working with animals. Other than that, I always enjoy a good film or finding a new reading spot to take my book. I am always listening to music and love finding new artists, I also really enjoy any form of live music. I love to cook and very much enjoy cooking for other people.
