No.1 on the list of Sierra Leones' top visitor attractions, this Sanctuary sits on the edge of the country's capital. Surrounded by forest but just a short ride from bustling Freetown with its markets and beaches, we are ideally situated for an unforgettable experience.
The organization's primary mission is to advocate for Sierra Leones' national animal, the Chimpanzee. We promote community conservation through education and livelihood support, proactively protect the National Parks alongside the NPA, support law enforcement through animal confiscations, and provide lifelong sanctuary to over 120 Chimpanzees.
The organisation primarily employs local staff to run its centre, located just outside Freetown and its community outreach programs.
Staff enjoy onsite accommodation including breakfast, lunch and dinner provided by the team of local cooks.
The showers might be cold, but the atmosphere is warm and welcoming.Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

The sanctuary sits at the heart of the community and we spend time interacting and educating both on-site and in the towns surrounding us.
Workawayers can expect to learn all about Sierra Leonian culture from the past and present and can expect to get glimpses into what the future holds for this vibrant and friendly country.Arbeit
We are looking for an outgoing individual with great written and verbal communication skills. English and Krio are the languages we use in camp but English is the primary language used for visitors to the sanctuary.
The role will be working with our EcoTourism team, looking after all aspects of the operation.
Ideally, Workawayers will have experience working in the travel and tourism industry and will be able to recognise good customer service. A good understanding of Google Docs and Microsoft products is essential. You will be interacting with sanctuary visitors and ensuring they have a great experience.
Tasks will be varied and will range from checking in visitors and assisting with tours to helping with the preparation of guest EcoLodges.
Data input and monthly performance analysis are part of the role and Workawayers will be expected to support a continuous program to develop and improve the EcoTourism program.
In return, Workawayers will receive on-site accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They will be exposed to all aspects of operating a globally accredited sanctuary and will get to experience life in West Africas' safest country.Gesprochene Sprachen
