Hi! I’m Gustavo, and I run a cozy and friendly guesthouse located in Punta Arenas, Chile, at the gateway to southern Chile. Our hostel welcomes travelers from all over the world who come to explore this unique region.
We offer a warm and peaceful atmosphere, with a focus on good hospitality, cleanliness, and creating a relaxed space where guests and volunteers feel at home.
Our team is small but very friendly — we like to share experiences, stories, and good moments together. Volunteers usually help with reception, cleaning, or interacting with guests, and in return, they get to enjoy a meaningful cultural exchange and the experience of living in the far south of Chile.

Volunteer Opportunity in Punta Arenas, Chile 🇨🇱
We are a friendly hostel looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with housekeeping and guest service. Our hostel is small and cozy, with 6 rooms and 6 bathrooms, creating a relaxed and welcoming environment.
What we offer:
• 25 hours per week
• 4 working days / 3 days off (not consecutive)
• Breakfas,lunch and dinner included every day
• A warm, social atmosphere with travelers from all over the world
About the role:
You will support with cleaning, basic organization, and helping guests have a great experience. We value responsibility, good energy, and teamwork.
Schedule:
Weekly schedule is provided every Sunday. Days off are assigned by the host. -

In your free time, you can explore the beautiful surroundings of Punta Arenas, visit the Strait of Magellan, nearby reserves, and enjoy local cafes and viewpoints. It’s also possible to take tours to places like Torres del Paine or Magdalena Island (penguins).
The city has good public transport, and everything is relatively close, making it easy to get around and explore at your own pace. -

I stayed in the hostel for two weeks and it was great! Gustavo is incredibly nice and explains everything very well, so I never felt overwhelmed even though it was my first workaway. The atmosphere in the hostel is good as well, it feels very homey and the food is super tasty. I would definitely stay with Gustavo again :)
