  We are a family of five, our Mum Barbara (52), our daughters Maria (15) and Linda (14) our cat Katze and our dog Charlie living in a family house in the countryside of Austria. We have two older children, which are not living at home anymore. Our parents are going through a divorce right now, so our dad doesn´t live with us anymore, this is actually the reason why we need your help. Maintaining the house, taking care about kids and dogs and working is just a whole lot for our Mum, so we decided to ask you if you wanna stay with us and help us a little. You can experience austrian family life with us, learn about our way of life, Austria´s traditions, Austrian food, experience a lot of nature and activities like skiing in the winter or swimming, hiking etc. during summertime. Our Mum is very open-minded and quite spiritual. She loves a good deep talk. Our daughter Maria is the sporty one, she loves skiing and swimming, doing work outs and painting. Linda likes playing the piano and doing her nails and make-up. Both of them love social media. They don´t need a babysitter, I would like to see yourself more like a friend they can spend time with but don´t have to. Our dog Charlie would absolutely LOVE to have you here with us and if you want to you can spend all day with him playing, going for walks and cuddling ;) Our cat also likes to get a good cuddle.

  The valley we live in is called "Ennstal", it is in the middle of Austria, inmidst the Alps. The village is called "Pruggern". Since it´s the countryside of Austria, you can enjoy real Austrian traditions, parties, meals, language and our way of life with us. Our area has a lot to offer, you can go hiking, going for walks in the woods, biking, mountainbiking, paragliding, swimming, skiing in winter time, rafting, cannoying, climbing, bouldern, partying: in summertime we have our famous "Bierzelte" (translating to beer tents, it´s a party like Oktoberfest, just a smaller, more fun version). In general if you love nature, it is the perfect place to be. The mountains here are absolutely stunning.
  Our family is also very creative. We have a lot of instruments like the piano, guitar, flutes, a monochord, a handpan and singing bowls, which you are very welcome to use. Our mum works from home in the cellar, she is a craniosacral therapy practitioner, sound healing practitioner and life coach. If you wanna learn more about that or experience it, she is happy to show you. During the week our two daughters (14,15 years old) go to school. They come home in the afternoon, do their homework and spend time in their rooms, or with there friends. They don´t want you to be their babysitter ;) But surely they are happy to spend time with you and improve their English skills. On weekends we do trips or just chill at home. If you wanna go away on a trip for a few days, it can be negotiated. Our oldest daughter lives in Vienna and she offered, that you can stay a few days with her and visit Vienna. Vienna is about 4 hours away by train. In our village is a train station and multiple bus stops, the next bigger village "Gröbming" is 10 min away by bus, there you have a public swimming pool, different stores etc. and a bigger city "Schladming" is reachable by train in about 25 min. Schladming is our touristic hot spot, so check it out online ;)

  Arbeit

  We need help with housekeeping like hoovering and from time to time cleaning the windows, dusting off etc. Since the house is a normal family home it´s not so much cleaning work. We also need help from time to time with cooking. We normally cook a warm meal for lunch. Then we need help with our little garden, we have five vegetable patches where we plant salad, carrots, herbs, cabbage and other things. The plants need to be watered and the weeds need to be pulled from time to time. You don´t need to have experience in gardening, our Mum can teach you everything you need to know. We also want help with going for walks with the dog and playing, spending time with him. If you speak English or maybe even Italian you can assist our two daughters with their homework and learning for exams. It would be nice if you have a driving license because in the countryside we use our car a lot and our daughters need to be picked up and brought to for example their music lessons. If you can help with that it´s nice BUT it´s not a must.

  Unterkunft

  We live on the countryside in Austria. The county is called Styria and the city of Schladming is pretty close. The village is very small, about 700 people live here. There is a train station, bus stops and a little supermarket in the village. Our house is located 15 min walking up the mountain from the village center. There´s a wonderful view. We have a room for you upstairs in our house. There´s a bed, a sofa and closet. We have one family bathroom, which you are very welcome to use. Our house is a normal austrian family home with a living room and a TV in it, a nice garden, where we grow vegetables. Our special extra is a little lake in our garden, where we swim in the summer time. We can provide you a bike and if you have a license, you can take use of the family car.
