Beschreibung
We are building an oceanfront treehouse. Join us! Lush jungle and big trees grow on our 2 hectare land. Bennison, Al and Zephyr are all about going to the river, surfing, swimming, exploring, building stuff, and playing music with our friends. You'll live in the treehouse, help Alvaro with projects, and have plenty of time to get out in nature.

Cambutal community culture is proudly Santeño. Our neighbors are happy to have a chat in Spanish. We now take Zephyr to school in Cambutal daily, so supply runs and being social just got more frequent.
In Green Season (May - December), we are very remote due to being cut off by the Horcones River. Honestly, you will see very few people besides neighbors on horseback. However, Surf is directly out front. It helps if you are down with quiet time and doing your own thing. Nature is next level beautiful during these months so hiking, exploring and going on long beach walks will be fantastic. A surfer, musician, artist, writer, fisherman, birdnerd, hiker, or outdoor enthusiast would do well here. This a wonderful place to un-plug and re-wild.
Arbeit
You'll stay in Zephyr's Treehouse! We provide big meals (vegetarian and meat-eater friendly) in exchange for 20 hours/week. Bennison loves to cook and makes sure you are full, happy, and satisfied.

Unterkunft
Zephyr's Treehouse is perched cliffside overlooking the ocean. Big trees grow up thru the deck. It is completely surrounded by nature. The 24ft by 12ft room has 2 beds, mozzie nets, wifi, kitchen, shower and hammocks. Very private. Accessed by a pretty foot bridge, it is on the 'other' side of a ravine from the main house. Our goal is to make it more epic with each Workawayer.
We have 160 meters of beachfront an 5 acres of land. We are very remote and have few neighbors. This is an amazing place to unwind and relax and get away from the usual hustle and bustle of life. We're chill, enjoy a good time, and like nice people.

Some of our previous Sustainable and Eco-projects include...
-Our treehouse is 100% off-grid and was built with the help of WorkAwayers.
-Alvaro built our breezy surf-view home. He utilized wood, light-weight construction and minimal concrete.
--We are completely off-grid. He installed our solar panels, marine-grade inverter, charge controller, batteries and home electric.
-Our WaterFarm captures and stores enough rainwater to last us all year.
-We got super inspired by Bill Mollison's Permaculture books. We planted fruit trees, made compost, created nutrient-rich swales, and made it a goal to live a sustainable lifestyle.
-Alvaro made our wood and steel windows and doors. We will build similar ones for the treehouse.
-We built a bridge across a ravine. We now have access to our biggest trees and wildest natural area.
-We recently built a structure for 16 solar panels and a new little house for batteries, inverter, etc.
-Last year, I had the crazy goal of planting 1000 trees and flowers, which I made with the help of workawayers.

We spend 3 weeks living in the treehouse and helping around with building tasks they had for us. Some drywalls for the treehouse had to get attached which was a good job to do.
The treehouse we stayed in was just amazing and we were stunned when we first arrived!
