  Hola! My name is Silvia, I'm originally from Italy, I've been travelling since I was a teen, studying and working abroad until I decided to settle down in Menorca, a beautiful island in the middle of the Mediterranean.
  Menorca is a little paradise, it's perfect if you want to experience the Mediterranean life with no stress, surrounded by nature. It's not your place if you are looking for big shopping centres and buzzling night life, although in Summer there are popular fiestas and the island is more busy with tourists.
  I will be soon (December) a single mum and at the same time I'm an entrepreneur ( I run a pastry shop), so I'm looking for an au-pair to join my little family from February and help out taking care of my daughter and assist with the meals.
  To establish a bond with my baby, I am looking for somebody who will stay at least 6 months with us, ideally a year. As she is going to be a 2-3 months old baby, I ask for somebody with experience with babies.

  I've always been in contact with different cultures and I love to meet people from all over the world. I love cooking so I'm happy to cook together or organise some activity together. I have travelled since I was 12 and taken part in Work Away projects as well, so I am happy to be a host.

  Arbeit

  As au-pair you will be asked to take care of my daughter while I'm working, usually 5 hours in the morning, week-ends included (Mondays and Tuesday off, 1 Sunday off per month) as there is no kindergarden on those days, the rest of the day you will be free to explore beaches, hiking paths and taking part of language courses in town. You will be required to drive, I will lend you a car when this is to bring my daughter to school. You can also borrow it to explore the island and in this case pay for your own petrol.
  In exchange you will receive accommodation (your own room) and food (you will be asked to prepare the food for us some days a week). As part of our Au-pair contract, you will also receive a weekly pocket money, to be agreed before, depending on your experience. We will both sign an Agreement that details our rights and obligations.
  You are more than welcomed to join us to go to the beaches, having picnics, and enjoy nature.

  Dieser Gastgeber bietet Sprachaustausch an
  I fluently speak Italian, English, Spanish and Catalan, so you can practise any of these languages with me. I would also love that my daughter could listen to a different language (ideally English or German) as part of her learning process. At my pastry shop we also organise free Language exchange if you wish to participate. In winter (September/May) there are very cheap language courses at the Adults school, that you could take part in.

  Unterkunft

  We live in a house with own garden, just in front of the sea, 5 minutes by car to the main town Ciutadella. You could take the bus or use our car. If you prefer, there is a bus stop just 200 m away which brings you to town. However, bus transportation on the island is not great, especially if you wish to visit the unspoiled beaches.
  You will have your own room with bed, table, wardrobe and fan, and use all the other facilities (kitchen, laundry room, bathroom, patio). We have towels and sheets, and towel for the beach, so you don't need to bring anything. You will be responsible to keep your room tide and clean, and can use the laundry to wash your things. While at home you can connect to the WIFI, so you can bring a laptop, and you can watch TV on your free time.
  
  PLEASE NOTE: we are vegan and try to eat as much healthy as possible, but we are flexible so you are NOT required to be vegan, although it would be easier as we will not buy meat or fish for meals. Vegetarian is an option we could accept.
  
  You will be able to access 3 veg meals per day during your working days (I will pay for this food but you will need to cook for yourself when I'm not at home, and you will be asked to cook lunch few times for us).
  If you don't want to eat vegan (I can assure you veg dishes can be very yummy and I will be very happy to share recipes), you can also decide to buy your own food at your own expenses and use the kitchen facilities.
  In case you are the one preparing the food, we at least ask to be something vegetarian for us.

  Spanish language is not required, although a basic knowledge will help you while living on the island (supermarket, pharmacy, etc). I'm available to help you out in case you need translation.
