  Hello, my name is Márika and I live on the beautiful island of Madeira, Portugal.
  
  I am an art therapist, artist, yoga and meditation practitioner, and founder of a cultural and creative community project. My life is centred around creativity, personal growth, nature and meaningful human connections.
  
  I enjoy painting, spending time in nature, learning from different cultures and creating spaces where people can express themselves through art and creativity. I believe that cultural exchange is one of the most enriching ways to learn and grow.
  
  I live in a peaceful area surrounded by nature, overlooking the sea and the lush green valleys of Madeira. Life here is calm and simple, and I appreciate sharing my home with people who value respect, kindness, creativity and a conscious way of living.

  Workawayers who stay here will have the opportunity to experience everyday life in Madeira, explore the island's beautiful nature and discover local culture. I am always happy to share recommendations for walks, places to visit, cultural events and hidden gems around the island.
  
  If they wish, guests are welcome to join me for occasional meditation sessions, nature walks or a weekly yoga class. There are also many creative and cultural activities taking place through the local community and the cultural and artistic space that I am involved with.
  
  I enjoy meaningful conversations and sharing experiences related to creativity, art, intuitive painting, wellbeing, yoga, meditation and simple living. Sometimes we may cook together and share ideas about vegetarian food and healthy lifestyles.
  
  At the same time, I respect people's independence and personal space. There is no expectation to participate in activities, and everyone is free to create their own experience during their stay.
  
  I hope to meet open-minded, kind and curious people, learn about different cultures and create genuine human connections through this exchange.

  Arbeit

  At the moment, I am looking for help around my personal home and property.
  
  The projects vary throughout the year and may include gardening, helping with the land, maintaining outdoor spaces, sanding and painting garden furniture, small DIY tasks, painting, organising materials and general improvements around the house and garden.
  
  There are always creative ideas and projects waiting to be brought to life, so I appreciate people who enjoy being practical, proactive and willing to contribute with their skills and ideas.
  
  Most tasks are outdoors and connected with caring for the property and creating a beautiful and welcoming environment.
  
  I am looking for people who are independent, responsible and happy to work both together and on their own. Previous experience is not essential; a positive attitude, reliability and willingness to help are much more important.
  
  As my work schedule varies throughout the year, I usually host Workawayers during periods when I am able to be present, work alongside them and share the cultural exchange experience. On occasions when I am away, the arrangement would be limited to house-sitting and light responsibilities rather than larger projects.
  
  The exchange is usually between 3 and 4 hours of help per day, depending on the arrangements agreed in advance, leaving plenty of free time to explore Madeira, enjoy nature or focus on your own creative projects.

  Unterkunft

  Workawayers will stay in a comfortable private bedroom with a large double bed and a private bathroom. The room is spacious, bright and filled with natural light, offering a peaceful space to relax. Meals provided.
  
  Guests are welcome to use all shared areas of the house, including a large living room, a winter garden, a fully equipped kitchen and an art studio that may be available for creative activities.
  
  The property also offers several outdoor spaces where you can sit, relax, enjoy the views or spend time in nature. There are outdoor dining areas, peaceful corners for reading or reflection and beautiful views of the surrounding green valleys and the Atlantic Ocean.
  
  Wi-Fi is available throughout most of the house and common areas. The bedroom is intentionally kept free from internet access to encourage rest, relaxation and a healthier balance between online and offline life.
  
  The house is located in a quiet area surrounded by nature, while still being only 10–15 minutes from the centre of Funchal and close to public transport.

  I also share my home with my cat, so it is important that guests are comfortable around animals. She is independent and has her own personality, and there may occasionally be times when I am away and during those periods I will need someone to take care of her by making sure she has food, water and a little company..
  
  There are also several neighbourhood cats that regularly visit the garden and surrounding area, so cat lovers will feel right at home.
