  Hello friends, I'm Efrain, and I've spent several years volunteering in different countries. I found it a wonderful way to share and learn, so this time I've decided to be a host. I belong to a Zapotec indigenous community in the Sierra Norte of Oaxaca. We still maintain our customs and traditions, and we also communicate in Zapotec. I'm currently developing projects focused on bioconstruction, organic agriculture (such as organic coffee harvesting, organic panela production, and the cultivation of various fruits), medicinal plants, and, of course, language exchange. Activities change according to the season. Sometimes we have festivals, depending on the time of year. If you enjoy mountains, waterfalls, and hiking, this is an ideal place to relax outside the city. It's not a tourist destination. I live with my parents and my niece, and I have two other nieces who live nearby with their families.
  
  Hola amigos, soy Efrain y estuve por algunos años haciendo voluntariados en diferentes paises y me pareció una bonita forma de compartir y aprender, por lo que he decidido esta vez ser anfitrión.
  Pertenezco a una comunidad indígena Zapoteca en la Sierra Norte de Oaxaca. Donde aún tenemos nuestros usos y costumbres y tambien nos comunicamos en zapoteco y donde estoy desarrollando proyectos enfocados a biocostrucción, agricultura orgánica como( cosecha de café orgánico, producción de panela orgánica, producción de diferentes frutas, ), plantas medicinales y claro el intercambio de idiomas. Las actividades cambian de acuerdo a la estación de año. A veces tenemos festividades depende la época del año. Si te gusta las montañas, cascadas, hacer senderismo es un lugar ideal fuera de la ciudad para relajarte. No es un lugar turístico.
  Vivo con mis padres y mi sobrina y tengo otras dos sobrinas que viven cerca de la casa con su familia.

  Principalmente les mostraré como funciona mi comunidad, el estilo de vida de una comunidad zapoteca, la producción de cultivos orgánicos, gastronomia local y ancestral. Espero aprender mas sobre otras culturas...

  For the aforementioned project, I would like help with the following

  10. Organizing as much as possible.
  There are really many activities to do, and we will generally work together on them. If you know how to meditate or do yoga, that would be great, as I would like to introduce my family to that beautiful world. I would also love to start painting or wood burning if anyone wants to teach me. Language exchange is also welcome; I would like to continue learning English and can teach my indigenous language or Spanish.

  Realmente hay muchas actividades por hacer, lo cual generalmente las tareas lo haremos juntos, y si saben meditar o hacer yoga seria genial, ya que me gustaria introducir a mi familia a ese bonito mundo.
  Tambien me encantaria empezar a pintar, o hacer pirograbados en la madera por si alguien quiere enseñar, intercambio de idioma, me gustaria continuar aprendiendo ingles y puedo enseñar mi lengua indígena o el español.

  Unterkunft

  I offer a room with two beds for you to rest. There is internet access in the house, useful for sending messages and watching videos. Main meals, such as breakfast and lunch, are provided. For dinner, there will always be something to eat or pantry items to cook as you wish. Please let me know if you have any allergies or require any medication, as we don't have a hospital in the community, but we do have basic first aid supplies. Please also let me know if you have any special dietary needs, as we eat a wide variety of foods here, including many different vegetables and sometimes meat.
  
  Ofrezco una habitación con 2 camas donde descansar.
  Hay internet en la casa útil para enviar mensajes y ver algunos videos.
  Se ofrecen las comidas principales como el desayuno y la comida. Para la cena siempre habrá algo para comer o despensa para cocinar al gusto.
  Avisar si tienen algun tipo de alergias o requieren de algun tipo de medicación ya que no contamos con hospitales en la comunidad pero tenemos lo básico de primeros auxilios.
  Avisar si tienen dieta especial ya que aqui se consume de todo. Desde muchas variedades de vegetales y a veces carne.

  The community is a 4-hour drive from Oaxaca City. There's always a bus that leaves from the second-class bus station. The fare is approximately 13 euros. They generally depart around 12:00 pm, or it depends on the day. Keep in mind that there are no supermarkets, but there are small shops, movie theaters, and hospitals. We're a bit far from the city, so you won't find many tourists in my community. There's a basketball court for sports. The weather varies from rainy and cloudy to tropical and sunny. You can visit different waterfalls on foot along various trails, or simply go hiking, camping, and enjoy the mountains. If you're a good hiker, you can go to the river to fish and swim. If you have any questions, send me a message, and I'll be happy to answer them.
  
  La comunidad está a 4 horas desde la ciudad de Oaxaca, siempre hay una urban que sale en la central camionera de 2da. El costo del transporte es aproximado a 13 euros. Generalmente salen a partir de las 12:00 pm o depende del dia.
  Tomar en cuenta que no hay supermercados pero si hay pequeñas tiendas, cines, hospitales ya que estamos un poco alejados de la ciudad por lo que tambien no encontrarán turistas en mi comunidad.
  Hay una cancha de basquetbol para hacer deporte.
  El clima varía entre lluvioso, nublado, tropical, soleado.
  Se puede visitar caminando diferentes cascadas por diversos senderos, o simplemente hacer hiking, camping y disfrutar de las montañas o si eres bueno caminando ir al rio a pescar y a nadar.
