Our family—Peter (originally from South Tyrol), Ana (Canadian), and our daughter Natty—live on a small mountain farm in the Italian Alps, at 1600m in the Dolomites. We share our home with eight cows, a dog, and two affectionate cats. ( We sadly cannot accommodate workawayers with pets)

After working for many years with an NGO in Tanzania, we made our home here in the mountains. We’ve had the joy of welcoming volunteers from all over the world and truly value the connections and cultural exchange that come from these experiences.

Peter has been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, which limits how much he can help with physical tasks. While we have local support with the cows, the gardens are mostly Ana’s responsibility, and she could use an extra pair of hands during the summer. Our youngest daughter Natty is intellectually disabled and enjoys company and happy to show you the farm.

Most importantly, we are looking for someone who genuinely will enjoy spending time with us and likes gardening and isolation.

English is essential for clear communication with Natty and our family. It would be a bonus if you also speak some German, as we’d love for Natty to hear and gradually learn more of the language in daily life.
While experienced garden help is appreciated, quick learners will have little problems adapting to our farm.

If this sounds like a good fit for you, we’d be happy to hear from you and share more about life on our farm.
