  I live in a small flat in Biel/Bienne, a bilingual (German/French) city, with my beautiful rescued cat Contessa. She's a European house cat, a tabby with slightly longer fur and a fluffy tail, is mad about cat sticks andoften flops on the floor when she wants to be stroked, or is hoping to get another portion of a snack.
  
  As I've just retired from my main job, I would like to spend some longer times abroad and am therefore looking for a cat lover who would enjoy spending 4-6weeks with Contessa in the summer months. There are so many things to explore in the area, you can go for a swim in the lake, walk in the nearby hills and woods. The main majestic mountains are within reach by public transport as are the main cities and airports (Basel, Zurich, Geneva).

  Biel/Bienne is a bilingual city (German/French) and is a multicultural city in canton Bern. It is situated on a lake and has a lively lakeside life during the summer months, with many nearby places to go for a walk/bike ride/swim along its shores.
  Switzerland is small and it's therefore easy to visit other cities or go to the mountains on public transport. There are many events and festivals during the summer months in Switzerland, many sunny warm days and beautiful places to visit.

  Arbeit

  My cat, Contessa, needs looking after when I'm away for some weeks in the summer. She needs feeding (2x/day), her litter needs to be clean (1x/ day), but also wants some company and some cuddles. There's no cat flap in our rented ground floor flat so the workawayer would have to let her out whilst they're at home.
  The workawayer would need to empty the letterbox weekly, no other house-sitting chores required.

  Unterkunft

  Ground floor one-bedroom flat with a small balcony in Mett/Mâche, with some supermarkets, a train station, post office, chemists within a 10min walk and local buses to the city centre and beyond only a few steps away from my door.

  Was noch ...

  Like most cat-owners, my lounge has cat trees and some toys. Some vacuum cleaning will naturally be needed.
  House rules are those for the rented property (ensuring no loud activity at night, for example). There is a communal washing machine & space to dry clothes in the basement - each of the 4 flats is scheduled for 2 days per month, with 2 days per week being free for anyone to use.
