If you want to stay at my cabins by yourself (there are four international neighbors with there own places within +/-1500m) and do remote volunteering work for me then you can send me a message.fruit

Are you ready for a challenging, off-grid experience in the Ecuadorian jungle? I’ll be at my private land in Ecuador, and I’m looking for someone to help me complete various construction and gardening projects while navigating the unique challenges of living remotely.

    About Me and My Values:
I see myself as a provider, leader, and protector, and I prioritize these values in everything I do. I’m committed to creating a stable, secure environment, where we can overcome challenges together and get things done. As someone who thrives on problem-solving, I’ll focus on completing tasks while providing direction and support.

I also own an IT business in the Netherlands, so I’ll be working remotely during this time. I’ll have Starlink satellite internet for connectivity, and I’ll be on standby 24/7 for any IT-related issues.

This experience won’t always be easy—it can be demanding at times, and the traveling to get there isn’t simple. There will be physically challenging moments, but if you’re someone who is adaptable and willing to work through the tough times, I believe the work and the setting will make it worthwhile. It will also be a chance to accomplish something meaningful in a beautiful, healthy and remote environment.

    The Mission:
Last year, I built three off-grid cabins and planted over 100 fruit trees. This year, I’m returning to:
    - Complete the construction of indoor kitchens, cabinets, showers and windows.
    - Expand the electrical setup and automate systems where possible.
    - Planting more trees, germinating seeds, beautiful flowers, and vegetables to further develop the permaculture property help you create a version that mimics his stack — fully plant-based. Just let me know your focus: liver health, anti-aging, brain, or general cellular protection.y.
    - Build stairs and a Catholic prayer shrine to enhance the space.
    - Construct an exercise rack for fitness and strength training.

    How You Can Support:
Your support will primarily involve helping me with a range of tasks. While I will be leading the projects, I’ll need assistance with:
    - Organizing tasks and managing supplies.
    - Cooking, cleaning, and maintaining an orderly space.
    - Painting, documenting progress, and problem-solving together.
    - Running errands together, planting trees, and supporting other projects as they come up.
    - Tending the nursery and garden, harvesting, weeding, mulching, fertilizing, planting, pruning, clearing, maintaining trails.

The property is fully off-grid and includes the following systems:
    - A massive solar array (30 panels, 410W each) and 80kWh LiFePO4 battery storage.
    - 15KW dual-voltage power (110V/220V).
    - Starlink Satellite Internet (reliable connectivity).
    - Instant Pot Pro Plus, Joyami Smart Induction Cooktop, Samsung Refrigerator/freezer, and Samsung Washer/dryer.
    - Water filtration system with UV sterilization and SEAFLO pump with accumulator tank.
    - Hot water system for indoor showers and kitchens (to be finished).
    - Air conditioning units (18,000 BTU) for when it gets too hot, to control humidity and to have a condensation water source.
    - Home automation and security sensors.
    - Books, Pocket Casts Streaming, YouTube Premium Music Casting, HBO Max and Amazon Prime Video for infotainment

    Accommodation:
There is one cabin loft area available for you, with a queen-sized air mattress (80"L x 60"W x 13"Th) and a mesh screen. It’s simple but functional, offering a place to rest after a day’s work.

    What I Offer:
    - I will cover your travel expenses and basic necessities.
    - You can meet me in the Netherlands (Weesp, Amsterdam) in December before traveling to Ecuador if you’d like to get to know each other better and discuss things in person.
    - Food is plant-based / human health focused vegan, featuring tropical fruits like papayas, cherimoyas, jackfruit, soursoup, mango, passion fruit, melons, bananas, passion fruit, melons, and more, along with legumes, rice, root vegetables, seeds, peanuts, and some chocolate. I try to get at least 15% of my calorie intake (+110gr, 1.6gr per kg lean muscle weight) from protein, so I add soymilk, tofu, legume powders and other tips and tricks.

    Who I’m Looking For:
I connect best with someone who aligns with the following personality traits, based on the Big Five (OCEAN):
    - High openness to experience – Someone who is open-minded, adaptable, and excited about new challenges.
    - High conscientiousness – A reliable and responsible person who values organization and takes pride in their work.
    - Introverted or socially balanced – I appreciate someone who enjoys introspection and quiet moments but can engage when needed, with a balanced approach to socializing.
    - High agreeableness – A kind, cooperative, and empathetic person who enjoys working with others and values harmony.
    - Emotionally stable – Someone who remains calm under stress, with the ability to handle difficult situations without being easily overwhelmed.

If you feel you align with these traits and are ready for the challenges and rewards of off-grid living, I’d love to hear from you.

    Cabin Guidelines:
To maintain a peaceful and productive space, there are a few basic rules:
    - No animal-based foods, smoking, or drugs (including coffee, alcohol, and marijuana; I do use cacao, matcha, and cannabis oil).
    - Clean up after yourself and keep quiet after 11 pm (negotiable).
    - Be honest if something breaks or gets damaged, and leave the space clean.

    The Location:
My private developed land (Lot 11) is located in a remote area, measuring 138 x 116 meters. The location is 30 minutes from Gualaquiza near the equator 1000 meter altitude in the Jungle, it is a two or three day trip to get there. Expect temperatures around 25-33 degrees during the days and 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness.

There are four neighbors around at their own private lots, two fellow Dutch citizens and two Americans. There are both male and female local workers coming up the mountain almost daily to help with construction and agricultural projects.

Transportation will involve using my off-road motorbike to navigate the mountain or taking a bus/taxi for trips to nearby towns. Expect difficult terrain, weather challenges, and unpredictable conditions.

    Ready for a Real Challenge?
If you’re fit, willing to adapt to an off-grid lifestyle, and ready to face the challenges of life in the Ecuadorian jungle, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s see what we can accomplish together in this unique environment.

I’ve been trying to update my profile description for a while now, but it seems to reject any mention of the eco-village name for privacy reasons. However, I want to clarify that this does not compromise the privacy of either the host or guests. It’s comparable to saying I live in Weesp, Amsterdam—the exact address is not disclosed.

I am one of many private landowners in this eco-village. There isn’t a single person managing the communities, it functions more like a neighborhood with multiple houses and private owners.

If there’s any misunderstanding or if this violates a Workaway.info regulation that I might have overlooked, please let me know.

This profile originally served as a Workaway profile for my place in The Netherlands, which is where the feedback from previous guests originates. I attempted to create a separate profile for my new location in Ecuador, but Workaway doesn’t permit two profiles for the same individual.
