We are building bespoke Eco House in The Blue Mountains west of Sydney, Australia.
It's taken us around nine years to date and it's now getting to the exciting stage of tiling, welding wrought iron balustrades, gyprocking, painting and decorating etc...
From the photos you can see House is a highly hand-crafted bespoke home constructed from high quality and often recycled materials. It's for this reason at this stage, we are welcoming people with experience or trade qualified.
This is the final part of the project and we are currently looking for skilled helpers in the following areas:
- PLASTER BOARDING.
Please only apply if you and have experience or relevant trade certificate. We can also negotiate payment upon application.
On the ADVENTURE side of things, we are into MOUNTAIN BIKING, know all the good trails and have several spare mountain bikes for you to use if you'd like.

The ability to visit a world heritage area and work with a friendly couple on a unique hand-built project. Visitors can hike or mountain bike with us in some of the most beautiful trails in Australia.
We are building bespoke Eco House in The Blue Mountains west of Sydney, Australia called House.
The tasks we are needing help with are: tiling, welding wrought iron balustrades, Gyprocking, painting and decorating etc...

Welding using stick or gasless to weld 60mm OD to 12mm balustrades. Black steel. Welding 40mm OD pipe scroll handrail and grinding to finish.
Basecoat and topcoat of 10mm Gyprock plasterboard including a several curved walls. Sanding off to a smooth finish. Assisting in sheeting (medium) 5mx4m room.
Screeding a small laundry. Cutting down 12mm Travertine tiles to 300x300mm using supplied watersaw. Tiling floor. Tiling floor and walls of 2mx2m small firewood room. Grouting as required.
Fitting Blackbutt windowsills. Fitting 180mm wide Blackbutt flooring. Fitting and scribing Blackbutt flooring to curved (fanned) staircase.
ALL TOOLS, MATERIALS AND P.P.E. ARE SUPPLIED.
As you can see from above, the jobs are quite specialised. We greatly value any help and working on a bespoke building such as this, and it adds to your portfolio.

You will have accommodation at the House, which means you have the privacy of an entire house to yourself!
Kate and Craig live in the next street.
All meals, fresh linen/towels and showers/baths are provided.
Public transport (train station) is very close. We are situated 25 minutes from Penrith and 30 minutes to Katoomba.
The House is only 100 meters from the western railway line which takes you to Sydney (East) or further up to Katoomba (west) in the world heritage area.
We have spare mountain bikes and access to all the great trails in the mountains!
We have several cars, and as hosts, would love to show you the highlights of the Blue Mountains.

Both being teachers, Kate is working as a full time high school teacher and Craig has taken time off to finish building the Eco House.
