    Hello!
My name is Zaira, and I’m a 37-year-old . I am a teacher of Advaita Vedānta and a Yoga instructor. I was introduced to Indian philosophy at a young age through sacred texts. Over the years, I deepened my studies with Indian masters, traveling for many years through India in Uttarakhand, Kerala e Uttar Pradesh.

I guiding people in understanding the body-mind with a Non-Dual approach. I’ve been dedicated to this work for the past 10 years, offering individual sessions and leading seminars across northern Italy, particularly in Piedmont and Lombardy.

My home is located in a peaceful forest in Italy, right on the tip of Piedmont, just 30 minutes from the Swiss border. To reach the house, you’ll need to leave your car at the village’s historic church and enjoy a 5-minute walk through nature. It’s a magical and simple place I discovered in 2019, and despite my many travels and 14 previous homes, I’ve decided to settle here this year and make it my roots.

I purchased the house and land just a little months ago, and at the moment, there is still an old electrical system. The priority starting this summer will be to focus on the land and the general cleaning of the forest and surrounding areas.

I live with my almost 15-year-old son, Mathias, who is passionate about computers and bouldering—he’s been climbing since he was 7. Together, we’re embracing the simplicity of life in this beautiful spot. The house is heated by wood, and there’s a charming old washbasin for water. Large plots of land will soon be cultivated, adding to the connection with nature.

This place is perfect for anyone who appreciates a balance of peace and energy. The forest offers quiet moments with the sounds of nature, while the house often comes alive with music and community. I play various instruments, including the ukulele, and organize singing circles or kirtan and gatherings that blend music and connection with moments of stillness and reflection.

Just a 20 minute walk away, there is a beautiful river to reach a small, quiet, and private spot with a little pool where you can dive in and enjoy the cool water.

I’m excited to create a space where simplicity, creativity, and tranquility meet. Thank you for reading, and I look forward to connecting!

    Warm regards,
    Zaira

Workawayers will have the opportunity to explore the beautiful Val d’Ossola area, which offers activities like climbing, trekking, swimming in rivers, and relaxing by lakes.

I can share my knowledge and teachings in meditation, Indian philosophies, and sound therapy, including singing circles and the therapeutic use of music. I’d also be happy to teach a bit of Italian, making the experience even more enriching for those interested in the language and culture.

Hosting people from different cultures is a wonderful opportunity for me to improve my English and Spanish while learning about other perspectives and ways of living. I’m also open to advice and suggestions to improve my home and the surrounding land, making this an exchange of ideas and creativity.

    Arbeit

I’ve recently started taking care of this house and its surrounding lands, and there are many ongoing projects as well as others planned for the near future. That’s why I’m reaching out for some extra support.

    The primary tasks involve:

Cultivating plants, especially aromatic and medicinal herbs.
Preparing and improving the land for vegetable gardens.
Building wooden fences and small gates to define the property boundaries, so woodworking skills would be very helpful.
Clearing out and cleaning an extra room on the ground floor, which will involve scraping off dirt, painting, and organizing the space.
Building small dry-stone walls with stones from the land.
It’s also important to have someone comfortable working with the land independently. While I can teach some things, I won’t always have the time to guide every task.

If you’re skilled in any of these areas and enjoy working in harmony with nature, this might be the perfect opportunity!

    Unterkunft

The volunteer will have their own private room with windows and a balcony that overlooks the forest. Currently, the room has a single bed, but I plan to upgrade it to a larger one (a french double bed). The room is located near the main house and has its own separate entrance.

The bathroom is shared with our family.

Breakfast is usually prepared early when my son is home, or I can leave something ready in the fridge. Lunch will be self-managed during the week, while dinner will always be a shared moment with fresh and delicious meals. The food is vegetarian and BIO.

The village is a 10-minute drive from the center of Domodossola city. There is a beautiful trail through the forest that takes about 40 minutes to walk down. I go to the town every day for work and others things so on the volunteer's days off, I can give them a ride to the town center or other places if possible.

    House rules:
In the evening, before going to bed, the Wi-Fi is turned off.
Please make sure to keep the bathroom clean.
The house is very old, so it will be important for the volunteer to be careful while moving around inside. The windows and doors are antique, as are the floors and other interior objects
