    Beschreibung

My goal is to establish a Jewish sustainable ecovillage and eventually a residential community that gets its organic fruits and vegetables, eggs, fish and meat either from our farm, or from local farmers. I am interested in implementing sustainable energy sources, building with locally sourced materials, and keeping noise and light pollution to a minimum to enjoy the beauty of the starry night sky and the whisper of the wind and the crashing of the ocean waves.

Here on the ranch you can commune with the animals, two goats, three sheep, 18 hens, one rooster, two pigs, 3 dogs and 3 cats. You can take walks into the hills or through the arroyos. You can collect clear or pink or white quartz, or arrow heads left behind by the Pericue culture who inhabited this land a few hundred years ago. You can gaze up at the 800 year old cardon cactii which are abundant. You can ride Whiskey our 11 year old gelding.

I have an online job during the week which is at most part time. I am also a musician, play guitar and sing and write. I speak English and Spanish so happy to practice spanish if you are inspired to learn.

While our community is only just becoming established, these are the goals we are aspiring to:

A collaborative community; we work together for the good of all members of the tribe, and the community at large; we take care of each other.

A place to become and express your best, most authentic self; we are growing together, as imperfect beings, conscientious of the fact that we will make mistakes and learn from them as a community.

A place of shared resources; for instance, cars, internet, food, cell phones, bikes, computers, etc (as determined by collaborative decision-making)

A place where all contribute to the best of their ability.

A place of inclusion of Jews from all backgrounds of observance, beliefs, and denominations.

A place of inclusion of all people — whether or not they are Jewish — provided they are interested in living amongst people practicing their Jewish tradition, rituals, and faith.

A place where respect for the land is paramount, sustainable and regenerative farming and building practices are adhered to, energy production comes from natural resources, waste-to-resource management systems are implemented, and all practices that take into account the health of the land and those living on it now and in the future are considered and put into place whenever possible.

A place where daily life is infused with Jewish ritual tradition and learning; where the mundane is made sacred.

A place where we find joy in coming together as a community to share meals, to learn, to sing and dance, pray and praise, meditate and practice mindfulness, and generally support each other’s journey of healing, wholeness, and holiness.

A place where collaborative decision making strategies are implemented based on the belief of “each according to their ability, each according to their need.”

A place any excess influx of money is used to improve the lives of the tribe investing in infrastructure, facilities, courses, materials and supplies, and anything else that will help The tribe to flourish and enrich our lives.

get to live outside Todos Santos, Baja California sur, Mexico, 10 minutes from the ocean, this area is highly desirable and Todos Santos is a "Pueblo Magico," which is an official Mexican tourist designation. There is seasonal whalewatching, always snorkeling, diving and surfing, fishing, horseback riding on the ranch.

The tasks required currently take about 3 hours a day to feed animals and water plants. Ongoing garbage pickup is needed. For future projects, plumbing and electric skills are highly desirable, also looking for help with bio-construction, building adobe structures. Definitely need help with garden design, planning, planting, care and maintenance.

    Unterkunft

currently there are tents available or you can bring your own. We are in the process of building cabañas both for volunteers and for housing people during retreats.

Regarding food: We will meal plan for the week, shop for goods needed, identify who will cook what on which days.

during free time you can swim in local beaches, surf, visit todos santos, eat endless fresh fish tacos, shop for arts and crafts, explore this town with a Santa Fe sort of feel, you can snorkel, visit La Paz, swim with the whalesharks, visit the amazing beaches Tecolote, Balandra, Mogote. You can take a trip into the sierra de la laguna mountains and completely change ecosystems.

Transportation: There is a bus from the highway crossroads to Cabo, La Paz or Todos Santos. I can always give anyone a ride to that point.

I hope in the future those drawn to be a part of the community will provide the cultural and spiritual experiences those staying in the residential community will want to participate in; for instance, theater, music, yoga, Torah study, Shabbat dinners, celebrations of Jewish holidays, dharma talks, making pottery, writing workshops, and on and on...the limit only being the creative inclinations of the community members themselves.

I have a Telcel cell phone based modem, the speed test says ping: 80, download, 8.94, upload: 9.45. If we need to get another modem, they are only 20 bucks a month. I have found it fairly reliable.

they have to behave well enough to get along with current 3 dogs and 3 cats as well as other farm animals, and not bite anyone. There are snakes and a dog of mine was bitten and thankfully survived, but something to be aware of in a desert environment.
