… read more patient teenager who I met, she always want to have a good relationship with your siblings and want to see they happy with the others. Nely is a strong woman and David have a very good heart. I also knew the other member of the family, everybody is wonderful. Living there it was a good experience and I’ll always keep in my mind and my heart. Thanks to open your house and your heart for me. I hope you have a happy life. You have a wonderful family. The full house with 8 people - 4 dogs were most of the time outside - can be overwhelming but they are super nice, fun and interesting people. They took good care of me, asked with patience how the morning was with Dante, whether I needed anything … They are wonderful people. A lot of energy prevails.
I was with Dante (almost 2 years old) until
… read more 2.30 pm or so, then we ate together, and then I was free to do whatever I wanted. I was invited to their weekend activities but I could also do whatever I wanted. The tasks are well defined: taking care of Dante in the mornings during working days. That’s it.
I really liked Benicassim as well, with the beach and the sea at one side and mountains at the other side. Using the bike that I could borrow, I could get anywhere.
I feel very grateful for the time spent there!

Esta familia para mi es perfectamente como workaway tendría ser. Es un dar y recibir en equilibrio, yo ayudaba con los niños y un poco en regocer la cocina. En intercambio recibí comida ricissima, un cuarto, una bici para utilizar, la playa cerca, ayuda con español y cariño de toda la famila. Lo pasé superbien con ellos.

… read more familia, me ayudaban con mis preguntas y problemas y tenía que reírme un montón con ellos. Compartían todo conmigo. Me llevaban donde ellos fueron pero también podía hacer cosas solas. David me mostraba la zona y me enseñó mucho. Me encantaba escuchar las historias de Nely, tiene mucho a contar. Inés era mi amiga y hermana y me acompañaba donde quería ir. Jimena nunca se cansó de jugar conmigo y me dio mucho amor. Me gustaba ayudar a León cuando él me preguntaba y con Nahuel hice tonterías y nos reíamos de todo.

… read more aproveché el tiempo para practicar el kite surf, hacer compras en Castellón o para quedar con otras personas de workaway.
Como era mi primer trabajo, al principio me sentí un poco abrumada de la situación porque no podía comunicarme tan bien con la niña más pequeña y ella tiene una voluntad muy fuerte. Pero con el tiempo y la ayuda de la niña más antigua eso y mi español ha mejorado y mejorado. Cuando comencé el segundo mes, otra chica de workaway fue a la casa de la familia y desde entonces pudimos compatir el trabajo.
sobre el lugar:
La playa más cercana está a 15-20 minutos en bicicleta. Pensé que la casa estaba más cerca del centro y de la playa por la descripción en el perfil de workaway. Recomendaría a las siguientes personas que vienen a Benicassim, organizarse un coche para salir por la noche, sería mejor tener un coche porque el último autobús de Castellón a Benicasim llega a las 8 de la tarde.
Si alguien piensa en ir a Benicasim, puede pedirme contactos de personas que les gusta conocer gente de workaway. Porque para mí eso fue lo más difícil al principio.

Nely and David are very kind parents with adorable children - 4 of them so there's always at least one around with whom you can spend time! (: I stopped counting how many castillos de arena Jimena and I built and I am sure now we can build the most amazing ones! David is totally into music and one can have good talks about it with him and I hope when I come back my Spanish will be way better so I also can talk properly with Nely - I am sure she has great knowledge to share :-)
I definitely recommend to stay at Nely's family !

… read more maturity in young people of their ages. Benicássim is a beautiful small pueblo, and I enjoyed taking the bikes to town with Inés. But above all, I loved just spending time in their wonderful home and getting to know each of these wonderful individuals, and the many kind people who they welcome into their home.
I came into this experience really with the goal of improving my Spanish, and I really did. They all had such patience with me explaining things - the boys would happily explain all the rules to games and Inés would help me with grammar. However, I never really imagined I would find such kinship and shared reality with people living so geographically far from me, but I did! This was a life enriching experience and I am so grateful to this family for that.
Quiero decir el enorme impacto positivo que todos ustedes tuvieron en mí. Primero que ahora tengo más confianza en hablar en español, y sigo estudiando español :) (Aprovecho la hora que tengo cada dos días en la clase de español porque estar en un entorno de español me hace sentir relajada y aceptada como me sentía en vuestro hogar). Segunda que encontré muchas ideas nuevas y preguntas para pensar en - sobre temas como escuela, la crianza, el feminismo, la familia. But if you like basketball, Nahuel would love to play with you. Leon is more quiet but its so beautiful to whatch him play with Jimena. And with her you'll never get bored. She has a lot of energie and a strong mind ;)

… read more occasion to try the best tortilla in the world made by David ;) and the best soya made by Nely, they are really great cooks! Children are really smart and sweet. Sometimes they can teach you new things. I made with them a lot of manual work, we were cooking, playing, dancing and just having great time. They were also really willing to teach me spanish. Mejor dicho: Nely, David y lo niños no son una familia. Son un equipo.
Sí, un equipo en donde desde alistar la mesa para el almuerzo hasta una tarde completa de juegos con Legos, son escenas de película, en donde todos se complementan y animan.
Inés, con su dedicación a la danza, las telas, y siempre inquieta por el mundo del empoderamiento femenino, te atrapa a oirla y sentir que la sociedad puede cambiar.
Los gemelos, Nahuel y León, y la increíble enseñanza que me dieron ayudando y preocupàndose por su hermana pequeña, así como la pasión que sienten por la historia romana.
Jimena, la más pequeña que en ningún momento dejó de maravillarme y sorprenderme con su veloz aprendizaje y el amor que les tiene a sus hermanos.
Nely es una mujer increíble, una leona de la que aprendí mucho más de lo que pudiese contar en estas líneas: solidaridad, corazón, convicción y fortaleza son cualidades que hacen de esta mujer una vasija suave pero firme, a donde acudir y en la que todos encontramos recogimiento, entendimiento y cariño.
David es un libro abierto y extremadamente interesado en todo lo que se mueva (sisi, bacterias inclusive y principalmente!) alguien con quien compartir una cerveza y charlar desde la característica de los agujeros negros hasta datos curiosos de la historia española. Su especialidad en la cocina es el risotto y cada vez que lo hace, todos en la casa bailamos!
Si descartas la posibilidad de hacer voluntariado en esta familia por pensar "oh, si, es SÓLO una familia y no me aportará nada", estás equivocad:asterisk_symbol:.
Si quieres aprender de un niño de 7 años a contar los mejores cuentos hipnotizadores del condado o a bailar en medio del salón como si nadie te estuviera viendo. Si quieres saber de historia y conocer a una auténtica manada, no dejes de conocer a esta familia.
Después de convivir 3 meses con tanto cariño, ya no me siento sola caminando por el mundo. Ahora, también me siento parte de esta manada.
