Vom Host für Workawayer (Lea)
Léa is a quiet and sensitive girl who stayed with us for two weeks or so. She helped clean and re-decorate kitchens in Toulouse and Sentein. While applying herself to these tasks with enthusiasm she never forgot that Workaway is above all a cultural exchange; not a free source of labour. With her wide knowledge of Austrian history, politics and

First of all, I felt very comfortable and welcomed by Sylvie and Simon. We had many interesting conversations and I learnt many new things.
After doing some painting in Toulouse, we proceeded to go to the Pyrenees to repaint there, where it was nice and cool and we (another helper and me) had our own room. In Toulouse we had our own rooms,

Having our meals together was always very nice, including delicious food and nice conversations.
Sylvies' singing and Simons jokes made my stay even more worth it! They made the effort to show us around and teach us new things, and also help me with my French which I am very grateful for.
Merci beaucoup / Thanks / Vielen Dank Simon and Sylvie for making my first workaway an unforgettable experience :)Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Vom Host für Workawayer (Emelie)
What a charming young woman! Emelie stayed and worked with us for two weeks, getting stuck in to the work from Day 1 with enthusiasm and skill. These two brillant students from Cambridge University have cracked the scientific conundrum that has baffled scientists for over 100 years: the origin of 'dark matter' in the universe. Thank you. And come back soon.Feedback

Vom Workawayer (Isadora & Heitor) für Host
We experienced extraordinary moments with Sylvie, Simon, Igor, and Yoda. Their hospitality was so warm that we felt like we were in the home of close relatives. Sitting around the table, we shared memories and laughter, engaged in discussions about philosophy, politics, and history... Their knowledge in these subjects is impressive, and we

As for the work, it was incredibly smooth. They assigned us simple tasks, always ready to help, which made everything light and enjoyable.
We had the opportunity to visit their house in the mountains during a local folklore festival, which was an amazing experience. They also took us on various outings, always introducing us to the local culture and history. On our first day, Igor even took us on a comprehensive tour of Toulouse, and with his storytelling skills, we were able to relive several historical points of the city.
Our stay was excellent. We had a separate studio with a kitchen, bathroom, and internet access.
We are extremely grateful for everything we experienced with them, and we can confidently say that we made great friends.Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Vom Host für Workawayer (Isadora & Heitor)
What a wonderful experience to host these two young people in our house! We learn so much from helpers such as these two in every moment of the day: sitting around the breakfast table or scraping old wallpaper from a ceiling (why do people put wallpaper on ceilings?!!) or painting a pvc door grey. We find out more about Brazil and the way people
… read more think over there than we ever would travelling there ourselves. Isa and Heitor are great workers: show them what to do for a couple of minutes and they will soon be doing it better than an expert. But above all they are great people: warm, kind and polite. We wish them every success in their European adventure.
Vom Host für Workawayer (Sidsel )
What delightful girls to have in our house! For nearly two weeks Cille and Sidsel lived and worked alongside us in Toulouse and in our mountain house, always in good humour, always laughing and always seeing the positive side of things. They are both curious about life in other countries and eager to learn. The work we did was fairly
… read more straightforward - painting shutters, insulating an attic, putting up a wooden ceiling - but they set to it with vigour and competence. They could probably do more challenging work, if needed. We are so sorry to see them go ... our house will be so quiet now ... but they are welcome back at any time.
Vom Host für Workawayer (Josephine)
What a pleasant young girl! So open and curious, prepared to listen and learn from every event, Josi brought a ray of sunshine into our house. On the work front she started painting from the first minute as if she had been doing it all her life. Conscientious and hard-working, she finished all the tasks we asked of her. Perfect Workaway mentality:

Vom Host für Workawayer (Dagmar & Mikkel Bloch)
Dagmar and Mikkel restored our faith in Workaway. A couple of young people with a refreshingly open attitude to life, work and ... ideas. They brightened up our summer with their uncomplaining enthusiasm for our projects: painting, white-washing and dealing with recalcitrant wallpaper on the ceiling, nothing was too much for them. We spent a lot
… read more of time just discussing the world, music and Europe with them that the work became almost irrelevant. When the hosts learn more from their guests than the other way round then it is a successful exchange. We hope to see them again in France: any time!
Vom Host für Workawayer (Anna)
Anna and Jack form the perfect Workaway team. Intelligent, hard-working and willing to learn ... these are the fundemental attributes of a successful helper. Add to this Jack's Kilkenny humour and Anna's ability to smile in any circumstance and you have a couple who are a pleasure to be around.
They conceived and created a state-of-the-art
… read more hen-house in our back garden using old bits of wood, wire netting and a bucket of whitewash. They cleaned out a cellar with over two hundred years worth of bric-a-brac and took the whole lot to the local déchetterie. They whitewashed the front wall and painted a dozen highly-individual snakes on our outdoor staircase. They entertained us with story, song and music.
We have no hesitation in recommending Jack and Anna to any host who is willing to learn from their guests ... while they roll up their sleeves and get on with the work.
