Welcome to our farm!
We're a family-run farm on the beautiful Zambezi River, where we're working on livestock, agriculture, and aquaculture projects. Our farm is still a work in progress (we've only just begun!), with ongoing construction to fix up our farmhouse and build new structures.
We are a husband and wife team, and we employ a few local farmhands who are an essential part of our farm. As we come from different backgrounds, it's important for anyone joining us to be patient and understanding of language and cultural differences. Respect and open-mindedness are key to making this experience enriching for everyone.
What makes our farm special? The stunning natural setting along the Zambezi River, where you’ll be surrounded by wildlife, stunning views, and vibrant African sunsets. Whether you're helping out in the fields or lending a hand with building projects, there's always something to do.
We look forward to hearing from you!Arten von Hilfe und Lernmöglichkeiten

Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten
Staying with us offers a few cultural exchange experiences. Our farm is close to local villages and some schools, where you can immerse yourself in the community. While social or volunteer work in the villages is at your discretion, we can help connect you with local people. You'll also have the opportunity to explore the stunning surroundings, including the nearby Kariba Dam wall and gorge. We own a small boat and can offer tours of the Zambezi River and the gorge near the Kariba Dam wall, providing a unique perspective of the area. For bird-watching enthusiasts, the area is a haven for diverse species. You can also learn about coffee roasting in Siavonga or relax in the hotels in town for a touch of modern comfort. We look forward to sharing our passion for farming and construction and learning from your cultural background and expertise.
Arbeit
We'd love to host Workawayers with a passion for hands-on farming, animal husbandry, aquaculture, construction, plumbing, or even general DIY skills. If you have experience in these areas, we'd love to have you join us! The work here is demanding, and the weather can get extremely hot, with heavy summer rainfall and humidity, so it's important to come prepared for physical tasks in tough conditions. Farming is new to us, but we're passionate about developing the farm and would welcome the opportunity to learn alongside someone with more experience. While we have a strong background in construction and landscaping, we're eager to expand our knowledge in agriculture and aquaculture. If you have the expertise, we’d love to collaborate and share tasks.

We provide an open camp experience on our farm, designed to be comfortable yet close to nature. We have a double bed protected by a mosquito net, as well as a caravan. The camp features a bathroom with a shower and a small pool to cool off after a day of work or exploration. The camp is equipped with solar power.
For meals, we have a small kitchen with a two-plate gas stove, fridge/freezer, gas kettle, and a cupboard to store your groceries. When you arrive, we’ll take you into town for a grocery shop to get what you need. Dinner is usually a cooked meal that we prepare, and it typically includes meat, vegetables, and either starch or pasta. We will provide dinner, and we’d love for you to join us some nights—it’s a great time to relax and share stories.
Our typical breakfast and lunches are simpler, usually quick meals like toast, eggs, or sandwiches. therefore, these meals will be yours to prepare as you'd like, giving you flexibility in your daily routine.
We love cooking and learning about new cuisines, so teaching us about your local food would be very welcome! We can occasionally make traditional meals from our respective backgrounds to learn more about our cultures. Was noch ...
During your time off, you’ll have various ways to enjoy the surroundings. We are 12 kilometres from the main road to Siavonga or Lusaka, with access via a dirt road. We make trips to Siavonga once a week or bi-weekly, and to Lusaka depending on our needs, which may be as infrequent as once a month. However, we have friends who frequently travel between Siavonga and Lusaka, so lifts can be arranged if needed.
If you plan on visiting larger towns or exploring, it’s worth noting that you will need to rent a car if a lift can't be arranged. Trips between Lusaka and Livingstone can be made by road or plane, and due to our remote location, a minimum of a four-day trip is recommended for longer excursions.
While on the farm, it’s a good idea to bring your mountain bike, running shoes, books, art supplies, and your laptop to keep entertained during your downtime—whether you want to catch up on reading, take an online course, or relax by the riverside. There’s always plenty to do if you like quiet time in nature.
We live a peaceful and simple lifestyle here on the farm. We don’t smoke, and while we do enjoy a drink on occasion, we maintain a relaxed and respectful atmosphere. Given our remote location, you’ll need to be comfortable with the slower pace and the natural challenges of off-grid living.Etwas mehr Information

We provide a desk and solar-powered electricity, so you can work comfortably. Your working hours on the farm can be in the mornings or afternoons, whichever suits your schedule.
