  I am Olcay, the director of an English Academy. We are a center founded in 2020 to teach English and create cultural exchange between foreign teachers and Turkish university students/adults. There is also the opportunity to learn Turkish as a result of this exchange. We are located in a quiet neighborhood of Sisli, Istanbul, a metro ride away from the city’s world-famous cultural attractions. We are an organization majorly based on Speaking Skills for every type of English levels (from the Beginner level to the Advanced level). The organization contains foreign aiding-teachers as well as permanent Turkish teachers for speaking activities including different types of discussions, games and role-plays. We would like to see new faces having diverse cultural background at our school.

  What you can benefit from this club is not only limited to learning about Turkish culture, but you can also learn about other cultures as there will be other foreign co-teachers like you. The students are native Turkish speakers who can share their culture with you while improving their English. Meanwhile, your colleagues will be English speakers from all over the world - we have had people join us from the USA, UK, Germany, Canada, England, Brazil, Poland, Serbia, Colombia and more! This is a great opportunity for both students and foreign teachers.

  Arbeit

  We want teachers who can participate in speaking activities and help students to speak comfortably. We are also looking for foreign teachers who can contribute to our outdoor activities.
  
  Our current programs are as follows:
  
  - TEACHING
  We are always looking for experienced English teachers to work one-on-one with our more advanced students. TEFL certification is a bonus, but not required. Here is an opportunity to teach both Business English and General English and gain valuable experience on your resume.
  - SPEAKING CLUB: (Online and face-to-face)
  We are looking for advanced English speakers to act as conversation partners with our regular students. You don't need to be an experienced teacher for this - just be willing to be friendly and give gentle corrections when needed. Conversation Club (6 days, 4 hours a day) takes place from 6.30-10.30pm at our main office in Istanbul or online.

  Unterkunft

  The residence is not a hotel room but is located in a quiet neighborhood very close to the metro. Also we have 2 big houses for volunteers. The house has a full bathroom and a kitchen for you to use outside of class hours.
  We are generally clean and tidy people, we ask you to keep the common areas presentable as we work from the same place. Other than that, your only responsibility is to be a good friend and resource to our students and help create a positive environment in the center.
  Food facilities:
  There will always be tea, coffee, fruit and snacks available at the school. Our students also sometimes bring good food.
  At home it is different; each volunteer is paid weekly for food and cleaning supplies and you can prepare your own meals with the budget you receive.

  Was noch ...

  We sufficiently guide our foreign teachers for touristic trips. The residence is almost on the center of the city which means that the transportation is quite sufficient and available to travel around.
