I stayed for a week at the convent. It was a wonderful experience, the Sisters are very warm and welcoming, and positivity glow with kindness. Even though I am not catholic and not religious, I was welcomed fully and learned about and experienced many parts of life in a Monestary. They have a beautiful, large garden, and the work was very

Thank you,

Last week I volunteered in the monastery with two friends of mine. We did not grow up religious and were very curious about how the sisters live. We were pleasantly surprised! We asked a lot of questions and had special conversations with the sisters. That was very nice.

You hear a lot of different languages mostly French, German, Dutch and Italian! The work was mostly moving stuff because the sisters are new in the convent but we also did a lot of other things!
We are forever grateful for this experience and recommend everyone to come to the monastery! :)
Michael was a really special volunteer for us, and our first workaway volunteer in Senden. It couldn't have been better. No matter what work we entrusted him with, he did everything with dedication, love and care, neat, tidy, everything as well as possible. He never counted his time either, but wanted to help us as much as possible with the

Michael was also very respectful of our lives and at the same time very interested in everything and it was always rewarding to chat with him and answer his many questions.
Michael has a great ability to adapt to any situation and any environment; so I think he can be really helpful everywhere!
Thank you for all your help, Michael! And come back on your next trip to Europe! May God bless you!
What a joyful time I’ve spent here at the convent this season! I was welcomed with joy and warmth by the Sisters of Mary, Morning Star, and found peace, purpose, and fulfillment during my stay.
I had the great honor of being the first Workawayer here, and I’m excited for the brilliant future I’m sure will unfold for the convent as a host. The

The sisters have only been in residence at this house since the summer of 2024, so there’s a great deal to be done in the process of perfecting the place for their purposes. Much of my work was moving furniture, gardening, painting, organizing, building and disassembling interior fixtures. There are all sorts of tasks which need hands at various times, however—cooking, handiwork, repairs—and the sisters take into account what a person’s preferences and special abilities are, so as to give them the best occupation and the most comfort.
The guest rooms are simple and comfortable, and the little kitchen was always kept well-stocked by Sister Kaire, in addition to fantastic daily meals being delivered from the sisters. I found good company in the others who were staying at the convent at various times, and was happy to dine and talk with various visiting priests during my time. The convent is on the edge of the village of Senden, with bakeries and grocery stores and other little shops, and a charming walk. There is also much to learn, here, and many languages spoken. Several of the sisters took time to sit and share a chat or a cuppa with me, Sr. Bernadette Therese checked in on me often, making sure I was alright and bringing me chocolates, driving me to town with her when she was going. All the sisters were light and charity manifest. I so appreciated my time here, and highly recommend them as a Workaway to anyone considering.Feedback
