  Hej dear fellow traveler, welcome to my host page on Workaway.
  
  My name is Stefan, I've been on this planet for 31 years now. The place I am offering to host is where I grew up - amidst the beautiful countryside in Southern Germany, right in front of the Alps.
  
  Despite it being a wonderful place, after finishing my training as a carpenter I felt the urge to explore the world, find out more about it and myself. Almost 3 years later, Aug 2019, I returned, with a whole new perspective on life and since then tried to create a lifestyle that serves me well. The result is that I started making our families property nice and enjoyable, connecting with like-minded people in Europe and in the beginning of 2023, building my own Tiny House <3
  
  My long-term goal is to establish myself in organizations that build natural homes and schools. Building schools was a dream since I was 18 and now I start to see how this might actually be possible for me to do, as I have great interest and knowledge in both, natural building and pedagogy. For that I'm always keen to meet like-minded people. Maybe we end up in the same team working together? =)
  
  Things I like: being with kids and teens, playing guitar, board games, climbing (trees), swimming, landscaping, cats, deep and silly conversations, sustainable lifestyle, dancing to electronic music, yoga, meditation, sauna, speaking English
  
  
  BUILDING PROJECTS
  
  The TINY HOUSE is almost finished. A closet + shelf needs to be built and the rest is pretty much finishing touches. Depending on your skill level we will find something to do.
  
  Sometimes I have SMALL BUILDING JOBS to do, often further away where I also stay somewhere else. If that's the case and you are interested to join I will talk to the clients.
  
  3D-Drawing/Rendering
  
  A jewel of my near future visions is to build a new natural timer frame house on the property where my grandma used to live. In order to convince my aunties, who inherited the place, I need some good drawings of my visions. It's a house, a workshop and lots of landscaping. If you can to something like that I'd love your help!
  
  MEDIA PROJECTS
  
  I would like to put up a WEBPAGE of what I do and future ideas, which is mainly creating integral learning spaces. As I am not very familiar with this kind of work and also don't like it very much, so I would highly appreciate help with this.
  
  Another nice thing would be to have some VIDEOS of my work and everyday life which I might want to share on YouTube. There is footage of the first part of the built which can be edited also.
  
  
  WORKING CONDITIONS
  
  As an avid work & traveler myself, I know what it means to volunteer and that it's important to be clear about the agreement. So here's my take on it:
  
  First of all, I'm happy to have the opportunity to host and share my life with wonderful people. Having you around is already worth a lot!
  
  Generally I would like you to aim for 3-5hrs/day; 3-5days/week. So in total somewhere between 9-25hrs/week.
  Depending on your motivation we can talk about doing more. In that case I would want to offer something extra from my side too.
  
  Also: we're all human. We make mistakes, we have shitty times, and all that stuff considered "negative" by society. If you have a shitty day, you take care of yourself. If you feel inspired and full of energy, let's rip it and create something amazing!
  
  EVERYDAY-LIFE
  I personally aim for 25-30h of "work" a week, which sometimes is more, sometimes less. Having nice people around helps me to take more breaks, and time to enjoy and relax in general. I like to go for a run and swim in the morning, take a nap after lunch, and in the evening play some music and have a bond fire for example.
  
  In terms of cooking I want to be honest and tell you that I am rather lazy about it, cause I find it exhausting to take care of both fully, work and food prep. That being said, since I've started hosting we have been eating like kings and queens! So if you are someone who enjoys cooking a lot that would be greatly appreciated! But at the same time it is not something I would expect you to do. All the (vegetarian) food available is free to use for you. If you have special requirements let me know and I'll do my best to provide you with what you need. Please note that if you want to eat meat, it's own yourself to buy and prepare it. If a vegetarian diet is foreign to you, I invite you to use this opportunity and try it for 1-2 weeks. Also I'd ask you to join me in not drinking any alcohol. I've stopped 5 years ago. Over time I have noticed that I am more in touch with my feelings and other people. I don't mind if you sometimes enjoy an alcoholic beverage, but getting drunk in my living places is something I would not like. Thanks for your understanding =)
  
  Living and working together for me is not only enjoyable, but basically a need, as I agree with Maslow's hierarchy of needs. I see myself as a social being, with the desire to connect and exchange. It makes me learn, get inspired, grow and feel alive. At the same time, as I have been on my own a lot, I also like to spend time alone, as it allows me to reflect and integrate experiences made, reconnect to myself and also dwell in ideas about the future.
  
  I'm a big fan of openly communicating, especially needs. That way we can choose the best solution together in any situation =)

  Kultureller Austausch und Lernmöglichkeiten

  I am happy to introduce you to local traditions and practices, show you around, meet up with friends who do different things and enjoy nature to the max.
  
  As I have gathered a very broad knowledge on building with wood and natural materials in general you would have the chance to learn different building techniques, theoretically and practically.

  Arbeit

  In general I keep things very chill these days. I take it day by day.
  
  my Tiny House To-Do's:
  - build closet and shelves
  - mount ropes (instead of skirting)
  - install curtains
  - build LED lights
  - design hinge for special mirror
  - add nice decorative details
  
  If you are not skilled yet, this is perfectly fine, as I am happy to take time to explain to you all the tools and techniques required for such tasks. This is an opportunity to acquire skills for life.
  
  
  Webpage:
  I would like to put together things I already did and do (GeoDomes, youth support, etc.) on a webpage together with my vision of building schools.
  
  Videos/Youtube:
  There is some footage of the first part of the built which can be edited to a short summary and I would also appreciate some footage of my work and everyday life at this point.

  Unterkunft

  TINY HOUSE: There is a guest bed/couch, not very long, but diagonally just enough for up to 180cm / 5'11". As this is the only room, also my private space, it's especially important to me that we have an easy-going vibe together. That's why I kind of keep a testing period of 2-3 days. If things are sweet you are welcome to stay for longer =)

  EXPLORE
  If you enjoy being active in nature you will thrive in this environment! There are endless amounts of hiking and biking trails, lakes, forest and fields as far as you can see.
  
  Schloss Neuschwanstein is probably the most famous landmark close-by (only 30min by car). Even though I'm not that intrigued by it, it is beautiful to look at. It's near the old town of Füssen, which is really nice to spend half a day walking around and eat out amongst locals and tourists.
  
  Munich, Innsbruck and Stuttgart are not far (1,5-2h with public transport) and offer everything you might miss in the country.
  
  I can borrow 2 bikes and also drive you to the nearest train station ("Lengenwang" or "Nesselwang", depending on the direction).
