  Welcome! The goal of our project is to create an educational space to promote the use of bamboo and permaculture practices. We are creating a living environment in harmony with nature and with each other.
  
  We are located in Dulce Nombre de María, a quiet town in the Chalatenango region, near a major Salvadoran mountain range. It is a 2-hectare farm with a bamboo forest, fruit trees, vegetable gardens, a greenhouse, trails, and rest areas. Our vision is to implement and experiment with permaculture practices, without using agrochemicals or pesticides.
  
  We use bamboo for house construction. We also grow 100% organic fruits, vegetables, and ornamental plants. In addition, we raise domestic animals (goats, chickens, fish, and bees).
  
  We speak Spanish, English, and French! We ask that you have a basic level of Spanish so we can communicate, or an open attitude to learning and sharing languages.
  
  We are looking for people who share our vision, who are passionate about a self-sufficient and sustainable lifestyle, and who truly want to make a difference in this world.

  ¡Bienvenidos! El objetivo de nuestro proyecto es crear un espacio educativo para promover el uso del bambú y las prácticas de permacultura. Estamos creando un entorno de vida en armonía con la naturaleza y entre nosotros.
  
  Nos encontramos en Dulce Nombre de María, un tranquilo pueblo de la región de Chalatenango, cerca de una importante sierra salvadoreña. Es una finca de 2 hectáreas con un bosque de bambú, árboles frutales, huertos, un invernadero, senderos y áreas de descanso. Nuestra visión es implementar y experimentar con prácticas de permacultura, sin utilizar agroquímicos ni pesticidas.
  
  Utilizamos bambú para la construcción de casas. También cultivamos frutas, verduras y plantas ornamentales 100% orgánicas. Además, criamos animales domésticos (cabras, gallinas, peces y abejas).
  
  ¡Hablamos español, inglés y francés! Les pedimos que tengan un nivel básico de español para que podamos comunicarnos, o una actitud abierta para aprender y compartir idiomas.
  
  Buscamos personas que compartan nuestra visión, que sientan pasión por un estilo de vida autosuficiente y sostenible, y que realmente quieran marcar la diferencia en este mundo.

  We live in a rural region of El Salvador, and there's a lot to get to know in the area! By coming here, travellers have the opportunity to experience life in the Salvadoran countryside, try typical food, and enjoy our beautiful mountain landscapes. We also hope to teach you about our country's history!

  Arbeit

  Wake-up time is 7:00 a.m., when the kitchen team starts their shift. Breakfast is served at 7:30 a.m.
  
  Working hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., weather permitting. We require 4 hours of actual work on the farm, plus 1 hour for household tasks such as cleaning, cooking, etc.
  
  We require volunteers to have at least some skills or experience in gardening, farming, construction, arts and crafts, painting, or general DIY. More important than skills, we are looking for hardworking people who want to make their mark here.
  
  Some of the daily activities you can expect include harvesting seasonal fruits and vegetables; tending the vegetable gardens (since all the produce is organic, there's plenty to do!); learning about various products such as cacao or turmeric (depending on the season); watering plants; and repairing and cleaning paths and walkways.
  
  Other activities include repairing and maintaining various spaces: cabins, the treehouse, the pool, terraces, etc.
  
  If any volunteers are interested in working with bamboo, that's also possible! Just let us know, and we'll figure out the best way to work together.
  
  We share all our food and organic products, and all volunteers participate in cooking and cleaning. We share meals together, as we aim to foster a sense of community.
  
  Of course, it's not all work! There are plenty of pleasant spaces to enjoy and relax: a pool, areas with hammocks, an office for working, games to play with other volunteers, and a room with a projector for watching movies. We also sometimes organize excursions to nearby places for cultural exchanges.

  La hora de despertar es a las 7:00 a. m., cuando comienza la jornada del equipo de cocina. El desayuno se sirve a las 7:30 a. m.
  
  El horario de trabajo es de 8:00 a. m. a 1:00 p. m., dependiendo del clima. Solicitamos 4 horas de trabajo efectivo en la granja, además de 1 hora para tareas domésticas como limpieza, cocina, etc.
  
  Requerimos que los voluntarios tengan al menos algunas habilidades o experiencia en jardinería, agricultura, construcción, artes y manualidades, pintura o bricolaje en general. Más importante que las habilidades, buscamos personas trabajadoras que quieran dejar su huella aquí.
  
  Algunas de las actividades diarias que puedes esperar son cosechar frutas y verduras de temporada; cuidar los huertos (¡como toda la producción es orgánica, hay mucho que hacer!); aprender sobre diversos productos como el cacao o la cúrcuma (según la temporada), regar las plantas, reparar y limpiar senderos y caminos.
  
  Otras actividades incluyen la reparación y el mantenimiento de diversos espacios: cabañas, casa del árbol, piscina, terrazas, etc.
  
  Si hay algún voluntario interesado en trabajar con bambú, ¡también es posible! Solo avísennos y buscaremos la mejor manera de decidir qué hacer.
  
  Compartimos todos nuestros alimentos y productos orgánicos, y todos los voluntarios participan cocinando y limpiando. Compartimos comidas juntos, ya que buscamos fomentar el sentido de comunidad.
  
  ¡Por supuesto, no todo es trabajo! Hay muchos espacios agradables para disfrutar y relajarse: una piscina, zonas con hamacas, una oficina para trabajar, juegos para compartir con otros voluntarios y una sala con proyector para ver películas. A veces también organizamos excursiones a lugares cercanos para intercambios culturales.

  For accommodation, we have rustic wooden chalets, a dormitory, and camping facilities. Our house kitchen is fully stocked and open to all.

  There are plenty of opportunities for excursions in the region. For example, the small town of Chalatenango is near, as well as La Palma. There are several emblematic mountains in the region that offer camping spaces, and also rivers.
