Wendy very kindly picked us up from the airport and we immediately got on we'll. Doug welcomed us and showed us to our room. The villa is stunning and the views amazing. We had "hotel" quality accommodation with en-suite and private terrace. Our work was filling cracks and decorating two bedrooms and half the living room, Doug gave us clear
… read more instructions but left us to get on and hopefully was happy with our progress. We managed to do a bit of garden clearing, but due to a few days of downpours had to give up. Wendy was a fab cook, preparing proper meals everyday. Wine included!! Dougs stories on his life are a real eye opener!! We love walking and after work we did a few walks to local villages. The icing on the cake was our last night humming along to Abba-the movie, Wendy's an expert! Thankyou both for making us friends. ❤️

If we had stayed longer we would have hired a car as it is quite isolated and limited our ability to explore the area which is rich in history and culture. Regrettably only a short stay with us but Diana and Kyle were the perfect guests. Enjoyed intelligent conversations which extended breakfast time but they both worked extremely hard and our garden proved the benefits from it. Can thoroughly recommend them to future hosts.
First class accommodation in an idyllic mountainous setting; clear direction from reasonable, task-oriented host along side of well- planned /delicious meals from gracious hostess.

I am very grateful for the time I shared with Doug and Wendy at their luxury villa in early December. After my first work day we were already taking a trip to Nerja village along the coast to enjoy a sunny day there. Two days later we were in Granada. Doug is an experienced businessman, with plenty of funny stories to tell about his past life and full of positive energy. Wendy is very friendly and approachable and great for having a chat about social topics. Both are very open and it was a pleasure to share meals with them in their hi-tek kitchen. Doug even took me out for several evening meals at local
restaurants when we could have eaten in, but that's just the kind of generous guy he is.
All I had to do in return was remove all the deep-rooted weeds and rocks from the front of the house, which took up my entire time there. We were all glad to see the ground again and hopefully this will become a colourful wild meadow by the summer of 2019:)
I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Its a great location in the middle of the Spanish countryside but close enough to the sea. The perfect balance between experiencing the great outdoors and having the comfort of home amenities (the ensuite bedroom was something else)! Most of my afternoons were spent sipping an ice cold orange juice on the patio deck as the hot sun beamed down on me while staring dreamily across the valley, lake and mountains until the sun set.
These hosts are highly recommended.

… read more predetermined and others I was able to recommend as I became acquainted with the property and Doug/Wendy's preferences. No matter the project, instructions were thoroughly discussed and goals clearly laid out. I personally enjoyed a variety of gardening, painting, organizing and assisting with translations while out doing errands. It was my pleasure to be one of a total of 4 WAers during my visit... I was the last to board the groove train and all on board before me were consulted which made us truly feel part of a team.
The vista of the surrounding area includes mountains, a lake and the sea (in the distance). Though the walk to the town of Periana is not far, it is a bit perilous as it is on the winding roadway. However, the town has the typical Andaluz charm with local shops and bars. The lake is also within walking distance. The villa itself has beautiful gardens brimming with flowers and fruit trees.
Doug and Wendy, thank you very much for your hospitality and for the opportunity to assist you with your projects around the house. It was a joy to share such lovely space and times with you both.
