My daily is helping Helene in the house, collect eggs from Chicken coop. If the weather is good, we would go for the garden and sometimes helping Brice with the sheeps. I have a chance to visit another village for the market and Brice showed me some interesting places such as the church and chateau. I love to walk in the wood and the green field around the house with Praline the funny dog on my free time. There are so many things to discover and learn. I wish to be there again to helping Helene making delicious jam and have breakfast with the family again.

On the weekends, we often made trips to visit beautiful and historic places, which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The family of their son Jean was so nice and their grand children are so open-minded, well- behaved and talented so that I also really enjoyed spending some time with them.

The time I've spent in Mareuil was probably one of the richests periods of my life in terms of new experiences and knowledges, without mentioning the cultural exchange and human connection. … read more got the chance to learn so many things about gardening, cooking, taking care of the animals, living with more autonomy, and so many aspects of the french culture (specially the food, which was absolutely delicious). It was very pleasant to start the day very early and work during the morning, and having the afternoon to explore the surroundings, visiting nearby villages, or just relaxing in the house. The place is a piece of paradise.
Luckly, during my stay, there was many other family members in the house. It was a pleasure to know Brice and Helene's children and grand-children, also lovely, kind and atentive people. Also, Brice and Helene were very kind to invite me to their friend's house, it was a big privilege to get to know so many people and their homes.

If you like exploring you'll have a good time here since their house is located in the beautiful hills of Perigord. It's really nice for walking or choose to go upon the hill by bike and maybe see some deer.
I really liked spending time with the kids too. They are very openminded, smart and always happy to play with you if you want, if not, it's also good. Absolutely such a blessing to have them around. I will miss the easy yet productive life in Mareuil. Take care!!

The environment was like paradise, no pollution at all and I can promise you that all the food made by Helene are healthy and super delicious, she’s absolutely a decent cook! … read more of lovely sightseeing trips and recommended where else I could go on my own. In addition, Helene is a very good cook, so the meals, always accompanied by an interesting and funny discussion with her, Brice and their granddaughters, were really something to look forward to.
The tasks varied quite a lot, including feeding the sheep, making firewood and helping with the restoration works inside the chateau. Working with Brice and his colleague, Cedric, was very enjoyable, and I am sure I learned many useful skills. It was a real treat to watch Brice restoring violins and talking about them.
