Join our big family and stay in a treehouse in Göhren, Central Germany

  Beschreibung

  We are a big family living on a farm in a beautiful rural area in Thuringia, near Leipzig and Altenburg. There‘s lots of turkeys, sheep, rabbits and cats and we grow wheat, corn, canola and a few more grains.
  I am also a Workawayer (21 years old), just back from 8 months of farms and forests in New Zealand and Australia. I loved travelling by doing Workaway, so I decided to become a host myself. I would like to share our interesting place with Workawayers who want to experience the life on a original German farm that has been in our family for generations.
  
  We are a family of 13 (+ my uncles, aunts and cousins next door). So there is always something happening here and you are welcome to join in the fun.
  You will have your own accomodation in our comfortable tree house with its own kitchen. You are welcome to join our meals with the family. We usually have 3-4 meals a day. But you’ll also have the opportunity to do your own thing with the food we‘ll provide.
  In the evenings we often light up a bon fire and have some bbq- just join in and practice your German and beer drinking ;).
  Maybe it’s good to mention that our meals mostly contain meat (made from our own turkeys). So if you have any dietary requirements you‘ll have your own kitchen (as I said).
  Our place is non-smoking.
  
  Besides our farm business- including the turkeys and the cultivation of the grain- in wich we will not involve our Workawayers, we have a big family garden, where we grow our fruits and vegetables, so there is always something to do. We would also appreciate help with cooking or maintaining and cleaning the house.
  The working hours and days are quite flexible and we will be very happy with whatever skills you bring.
  
  Please note: There are two „Göhren“ in Germany; one on the Baltic Sea and one in Thuringia. We live in Thuringia, Central Germany ;).
  
  As you can see in the calendar, we can only host Workawayers during the summer time, when the tree house is cozy and the lakes are warm. But you are welcome to text us all year long and plan your stay with us.

  You will experience farm and family life in a little village. I can teach you how to sew, I really enjoy handcraft, especially with second hand materials and I like to explore reclaiming/ recycling. We can also share a lot of other knowledge as well as we are happy to learn about different cultures and lifestyles.

  There is always plenty to do. Lots of garden help, light cleaning and more. We will do as much as possible together because the learning opportunities on both sides and the share of skills stay in the foreground.

  Unterkunft

  We have a big tree house with its own kitchen, electricity, a drinking water tap, a couch, a table and cozy mattresses. There’s space for up to 3 Workawayers.

• 

  Was noch ...

  Historic Altenburg with its famous castle is only 5 min. by bus and Leipzig is 40 min. by train. There is lots to explore in the area and you can take one of our bikes to go anywhere you want or we go together ;). And of course you are welcome to join us on any event going on in the area. We also have a swimming pool and some nice lakes around (reachable by bike).
